How long will it be before dish will let work with us that have a tailgater. I would love to upgrade but not until I can put my 211 on the same account has my hopper.

As far as anyone knows, never. If Dish did decide to change their rule I would bet they would announce it at Team Summit in May.

It seems to me like this decision kills off the Tailgater for any HJ subs. How many are going to want a separate account, even a flex. I assume a flex account will work.

A flex account will work. I have a Tailgater and upgraded to the Hopper system. I still have the 211k since I own it but I can not activate it on my account. I just figure I will find a way to make it work when I want to use it next Fall. I can always have a friend add to their account or I may put it on our showroom account at our store.

Could dish make a special tailgater hopper down the road? or is there no incentive to do this?

I'm sure they can but I doubt they will. There's a reason why they made the 411/211/211k receivers the only ones that work with it. Those receivers are HD and have no hard drives and that's what Dish wants. Dish does not want customers taking their DVR receivers out of the house since moving them can possibly damage the hard drive.
