Saints Row 4 is having a free play weekend on Steam.

Civilization Beyond Earth is having a free weekend too. I don't think I'm even going to bother downloading it. We are working Saturdays from now until the end of April and I have plans Saturday night. I would spend more time downloading than actually playing. I was interested in getting a feel for this game without having to buy it but I needed the free weekend one week earlier.

You can pre-oreder the Gat Out of Hell expansion on PC for $4.99. That's pretty awesome considering that it's not even out yet and it will retail for $20. I'm pulling the trigger right now and I have a feeling @yourbeliefs will too. I haven't even played most of the base game yet but I know I like it. I don't think you're gonna see a better price than this for a long time.

I was actually going to skip on the $5 Gat deal since I was going to play it from Gamefly for free, but since I found out today I won't be getting it anytime soon (thanks Sunset Overdrive) I decided to just jump on this deal. I think it'll add to the fun to go and save "my" president. I probably won't jump into this until I beat SO first since I think my experience will be jaded to go from the balls to the wall experience of SR to the slightly off the wall experience of SO.

Another PSN Flash Sale that dovetails nicely with our 10% off weekend. The sale mostly consists of PSN downloadable games. But there are several newer ones for the PS4, including Costume Quest 2 ($3 and already in my shopping cart), Rollers of the Realm ($4), Shadow Warrior ($6), and Strike Suit Zero ($4).

I planned to use my 10% off to pre-order MLB the Show 15. Unfortunately it's not available for digital pre-order yet. This makes no sense to me. This is a first party game that comes out March 31st but it's not available to order. On the other extreme Uncharted 4 and Until Dawn are available for pre-order even though they still don't even have release dates.

Even if it was available, it's not eligible. Preorders are not eligible for the 10% discount because Sony knows how to make good business decisions.

Ah.... The original article I read said pre-orders were eligible. I heard someone on a podcast say they were going to use it pre-order all the games they wanted for the rest of the year since one whole cart purchase is eliligble. Looks like that is no longer possible.

I just looked at the list of games in that Flash sale again. When I looked last night I was on the PS4 so it only showed PS4 games. I think I'll pick up Dead Nation for $3.20. I have it on PS4 thanks to PS Plus but it seem like a game I would get more use out of on Vita. It's hardly worth using the 10% off code on that though.

Unfortunately the PS3 and Vita games are cross-buy but the PS4 one isn't or I would already have it for free. From what I can tell it looks like they added some DLC in with the PS4 version and got around cross buy by changing the title to Apocalypse Edition.

Edit: I ended up getting Dead Nation and Costume Quest 2. After the 10% discount the total for my cart was $5.58.

Sorry I was too late. I came here to post you could also get Dead Nation for PS3 through this class action lawsuit settlement stemming from the 2011 PSN hack. This is in addition to any other games you might have picked up in 2011's Welcome Back pack: https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic...ose-affected-by-the-2011-psn-security-breach/

However, you can certainly do a lost worse for the price of a pint of craft beer.

I unfortunately put Dead Nation on a subaccount when I grabbed it in the Welcome Back pack, so I can't now use the cross-buy feature to play it on my Vita, which is tied to my main account. (Cheaters never prosper I guess.)

I don't think I would have qualified for that offer anyways. I only had a 360 for most of that console generation. I remember researching PS3 so I could go back and play all of the exclusives I had missed. When I was doing my research I found out that outage was going on so I waited. I think I ended up buying my PS3 slim about a week or two after they got PSN back online.

Since then I've primarily been a Playstation gamer. The PS3 slim was brand new with some actual hard drive space and it was much quieter than my original model 20GB 360. Not only that but my 360 was purchased on launch day and it was dying. For the last year or two that I owned it the disc drive would only work about 75% of the time. I was worried that it was going to die completely and I didn't want to replace it so close to a new console generation so I started using it only for exclusive games.

Big EA sale for Xbox One owners. The standout in this deal is Titanfall: The Deluxe Edition for $12.50. Honestly that was too much for ME to pass on, especially since my cousins have and play the game. This will also likely give the community a big boost since the game is so cheap. You can also get the regular edition for $10, but the season pass is $6.25, so it makes no sense to buy anything BUT the Deluxe Edition if you don't already have it. There's other deals as well on various EA Sports games and other titles, and Another World: 20th Anniversary is also heavily discounted. The best deals appear to be on Bundled editions of games. Not sure what prompted this sale. Maybe it was the "blizzard" in the Northeast. Here's a list of all the sales:

Nice. I've had Titanfall since day one and I got the season pass for $5 or $6 during the Black Friday sale. We'll have to team up for some regular multiplayer or maybe the horde-like co-op mode sometime.

If Madden was like $15 instead of $24 I would probably consider it. Even then though, now that the season is over it doesn't have much value to me.

Even though I'm nearing the end of Dragon Age I would consider that for $35.99 if it was a PS4 deal too. I'm almost at the 60 hour mark and I have no plans to start from scratch on Xbox One. I do want to pick it up on discount at some point to maybe play another character class and I want to be able to play any future story DLC.

Looks like there could be even more EA content in the PSN version of the sale, including the early Dragon Age games and DLC. Bethesda stuff on sale too.

EDIT: Weird sales, on closer look. Sometimes the game and DLC is on sale. Sometimes just the DLC. I bought the first Dragon Age last year for $5, but the likelihood that I'll ever play it grows more and more remote, as my higher priorities in the genre are Skyrim (which I own) and DA Inquisition. So I think I'll pass on this DLC sale, though ironically I had been waiting for a DLC sale to start playing it. I may, however, get one or both of the DA2 DLCs I don't have yet.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/28/here-are-the-games-with-gold-for-february-2015

February's Games With Gold have been announced. It's a very weak month as far as I'm concerned. I'm probably not going to even bother downloading this time.

Xbox One - IDARB

Xbox 360 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Xbox 360 - Sniper Elite V2

Brothers is a decent game but it was already given out free on PS3 months ago and the prices on Steam have been so low that it was practically given away there too.

Edit: I haven't seen any word on the PS Plus February games yet. It seems like they are usually announced by now.

Yes, for the past year or so PS Plus games have been announced on the last Wednesday of the preceding month. I would expect an announcement by tomorrow morning at the latest, though I'm not hopeful the offerings will be as good as they were in Dec and Jan.

Free PS Plus games for February are

Apotheon (PS4)
Transistor (PS4)
Thief (PS3)
Yakuza 4 (PS3)
Rogue Legacy (all three systems)
Kick & Fennick (Vita)

I'm disappointed Thief isn't on PS4. I'm very interested in playing it, but not enough to spend real money on it. I honestly don't know anything about the other games, so I'll need to research a bit.

EDIT: I just watched the video at the link above and have to say this looks like a pretty good month. I'm excited about Apotheon due to my art history background, though I'm generally not a fan of beat 'em ups. Yakuza 4 looks like Sleeping Dogs, which I really enjoyed (I just hope the story is as good). Transistor and Kick & Fennick look pretty cool too, though I don't know if I'd ever get around to them.

Damn. I just bought Transistor on Steam about a month ago. Oh well, I only spent like $6 on it. I've never heard of Apotheon or Kick & Fennick.

This is a very good month for Transistor and Rogue Legacy alone. I've already put quite a bit of time into Rogue Legacy on PC but I will gladly go for a trophy hunt on PS4/Vita. I'm not sure if there is a Platinum trophy for this game but if there is I'm going after it. I've read that the cross-play is very good so it's simple to switch back and forth between platforms.

Between Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, Don't Starve, and Spelunky I may never need another Vita game. They are all endlessly re-playable and seem like perfect fits for portable gaming. By that I mean, they are good for short bursts but they are also easy to get wrapped up in for a couple hours at a time.

Rogue Legacy does have a plat and it's considered a hard one. PlaystationTrophies.org is the best source for a guide, tips, and discussion if you need help.
