Video Game Deals

Bundle Stars is having a great sale on an indie Bundle.

All this for $3.49. That's a good deal on nearly any of these. Hell to pay this much just for Freedom Planet would make it a bargain, and to get these extras makes it even better. Freedom Planet is a GREAT game. Started off as a Sonic The Hedgehog game that morphed into more. Highly recommended if you liked that series. Also Another World is a classic PC game.

If you missed out on all of Battlefield 4's DLC being put out for free on a staggered release, it's all back up on PSN and XBLM for this week. No word on whether or not they'll do it for Origin as well.

You can get 50% off in the Origin store with the promo code ORIGIN50
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/?no-takeover=true

Edit: They aren't clear on this but the promo code doesn't work on everything in the store. There doesn't seem to be a way to see what it works for and what it doesn't. I figured it was a long shot but I just tried to pre-order Battlefield 1 using the promo code and I got an error messaging saying that it can't be applied to this game.

It's probably a safe bet that it doesn't work on any preorders. Such discounts never do.

On the topic of Origin, all Battlefield 4 and Titanfall DLC is free now.

Steam is having a WB sale this weekend. All the Batman Arkham games are cheap including Arkham Knight for $10.19 or the premium version that includes the season pass for $16.99. There are lots of other games featured too.

There is also an Aspyr 20th Anniversary sale. You may not have heard of them because they specialize in porting games over to Mac. It's worth taking a look at this sale because they have ported a lot of really popular games. I should also point out that most of the games featured here give you the ability to play on Windows as well as Mac. From a quick look through the titles it looks like only Black Ops has separate store pages for the Mac and Windows versions.

You can get a bundle that includes Civilization V and XCOM Enemy Unknown for $6.64. These are probably the two best strategy games I have ever played. Buy this.

Edit: for some reason Amazon Links no longer work for me. When I edit posts that have them I just see media tags with a string of random numbers and letters. The link is no longer there. Try this.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is down to $40 for Consoles on Amazon. Sorry, PC users.

Amazon product ASIN B00VQZOIAG
Edit: For some reason the widget isn't displaying the right price. When posted, it was definitely 40.

FYI if you have a PC, get that version. This game really suffers at 30 FPS on consoles.

Dark Souls 3 is $22.97 on Amazon. It looks like this is only valid for the Xbox One version.

Also, Amazon has dropped the price of The Last Guardian to $49.99 for some reason. You don't need to be a Prime member to qualify for this deal. It looks like they are still applying the 20% off pre-orders for Prime members deal to the normal, $59.99 price point so Prime members get it for $47.99.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/hacknet?hmb_source=search_bar

Hacknet is $5.99 in the Humble Summer Sale. I wanted to call this out because I am currently playing through this game and I like what I have seen so far. In the game you are a hacker doing various things for a hacker group.

Unlike most video games where hacking consists of some dumb mini game (Bioshock, Deus Ex) the hacking in this game is done through something typing command prompts into a terminal. This is obviously a significantly streamlined version of the real thing but as someone with no hacking/programing knowledge of any kind it feels real enough to me.

Anyways, I'll write more about Hacknet game after I finish it but I wanted people to be aware of it before the Humble Summer Sale ends. Another thing I should point out is that because there really isn't much in terms of graphics just about any PC should be able to run it. If you always wanted to pretend to be a hacker your integrated graphics on your CPU won't hold you back from playing this one.

Edit: There is also a new Humble Bundle. I'll be getting this one for Devil Daggers.

The Saboteur, Mirror's Edge, and Spore are all now DRM Free and on Sale on GoG.

https://www.gog.com/

The fun irony is that Spore is now DRM-Free. When that came out it was bashed for the obtrusive DRM that it had. And it is also known as the "Original No Man's Sky." I remember there was a TON of hype around it as it was supposed to be this game changing (no pun intended) experience that would revolutionize gaming, when really all it turned out to be was 5 different lacking games in 1.

http://store.steampowered.com/sale/rockstarpublisherweekend_2016/

There is a Rockstar Games sale on Steam this weekend. Unfortunately, just like every other Rockstar sale on PC, there isn't much of a discount on GTA V unless you also want to buy some of the premium currency for GTA Online.

If you're tired of waiting for Rockstar and Steam to give you a discount, you can get the game for 50% off (plus tax) if you want the physical version from Target.

Also, this sale isn't BAD but I've seen most of these games for 75% off elsewhere.
