I received a mailer telling me that one of my Fords is eligible for a free preview starting on the date above. Curiously the other Ford we own is not. If interested you may want to contact them---or just tune in to see (or I guess hear).

Here is the list of channels.

The satellite signal might not hit a car in a garage or under some other obstruction and don't get turned off when service cancelled...the cancel signal is only for a few minutes and very often misses a radio..it would still be usable once it's back in satellite range..soooo..they put all radios in free preview mode..and send a turn off signal to all unsubscribed radios every once in a while

If the unsubscribed radios are still on couldn't they just send out such a kill signal periodically without authorizing all of us?

Also note that for some reason not all radios are eligible for this. I have another vehicle that is not eligible.

Radio has to be on..really doesn't apply to car radios..just the ones that are like adaptors or used in houses

Got in my car this AM and there was no free preview. I called the number on the screen and they insisted there was no free preview and also insisted my 2012 Ford has an XM radio not Sirius and refused to tell me how to get the radio ID on a Sirius radio. Later in the day t was on.

This underscores though the frustration in working with this company on account related matters.

Not available on my new car radio either. Just showing a number to call along with the incessant yapping. Not going to play those games with them. It's funny, because I had always received the previous free previews with no problem.

I heard they were having a technical issue and hope to have all radios on by later tonight.

I hope this is true as we will be taking the wifes car to go to a wedding this weekend and she don't have a subscription in her car (but I do in my car)

What a load of BS. Ford has been 100% Sirius since day 1.

I would have said, if the car supposedly has an XM based radio, why does your website show every Ford having Sirius.

Vehicle Availability

For the radio ID, not sure how you do it on a car without a touch screen, but if you have the nav system, press the 'I' (Info) button to the right hand side of the screen, the select 'My System Information' on the touch screen and the Sirius ESN is listed near the bottom. At least, that's how it is on both my SUVs with the older Pre-My Ford Touch Sync system.

I just keep throwing out the constant mailings and had forgotten, but don't want to subscribe, even at reduced rates, after all the horror stories of how much you go through to shut off service when it ends! My biggest complaint was the awful quality of the sound...don't know if any of it ever got fixed, but "bad mp3" is the phrase that comes to mind on my radio, at least....from when I was subscribed with the new (used) car.

You would think that it would apply to all Sirius only radios but both of my Ford radios fall into that classification and only one is covered (apparently)

As for resubbing that is unlikely. I just decided to try the free preview. I might resub if I could baseball and hockey at a reduced price but while they are standard with XM they are not with Sirius.

They really need to drop the whole XM and Sirius separate platforms. In essence, if I had one car with an XM radio and another with a Sirius radio, to get all the same channels on both, I would need to pay a premium on both. That's a bunch of bullcrap. In the last near 10 years, they couldn't have re-negotiated all their contracts to make it all SiriusXM?

Yep.

I thought they were consolidating on the XM platform.

I turned on the Outback S/XM to test it. Kinda awkward, but usable. I note their music and comedy playlists are so thin, that I'm hearing the same comedy routines from a couple years ago. Wow. That bad.

Only good part is BBC World and the instantly available weather, that only works with a S/XM subscription.

I just cancelled my service and it wasn't really a hard time. I just told the Indian call center representative that my wife is now driving that car and doesn't listen and I have no need for it any longer. They try to offer special deals be but just say no thanks and that was it. Got an email confirming my cancellation.
