They probably have no choice if they purchased the ad with HD-DVD promotional funds. Most likely Toshiba has to spend a certain amount of money advertising HD-DVD.

Maybe they actaully want to spend that money to get the word out that they are serious about staying in the race? The big retailers have the A3 back in stock, including CC, and both CC and BB will have it featured in this Sunday's ads at the new pricing (finally). I bet if the commercial is decent and they actually have a good week moving machines that people will still figure out the negative angle to portray it.

When did you think the deadline was for submission????? These adds have to be in so the sensors can review them. Not to mention other obligations they may or may not have had with the promotional group.

Toshiba pulled one over on the bloggers for once? (e.g., Circuit City dumping HD DVD, Onkyo HD DVD player discontinued, the list goes on)

Still I would've loved to see 2-3 HD DVD ads hammering it home. Oh well...
