Tigers vs Cardinals in world series

you answered your own question :)

They ripped the old turf up a couple years ago. They've used that new "looks like grass but isn't" stuff for 3 years now. Doesnt bounce as much as the old stuff did

hey it happens. Baseball is a strange game

The reason it was a balk was the pitcher was still on the rubber and put his hand to the ball and then took his hand off the ball WITHOUT stepping off the rubber.

Thats what Bert Byleven said on the Twins Telecast

in a few years we'll have the new stadium :)

Iceberg,
Thanks for your input, I just had to blow some steam, a disscusting way to lose a game....Almost looked like the previous years of Tiger history

I'm the same way when my beloved University of MN Duluth Bulldogs lose.(especially if the lose in a weird way)

Even the Twins announcers said they haven't seen a weirder inning (the 8th) in a long time

Oh well,
2 out of 3 I can take, seeing I predicted a page or so ago that the Tigers would only win one.
Winning Saturdays game was unexpected, Fridays game was a big game to win, you always have to get off to a good start.
I really thought todays game might be a pitching matchup that would be pretty awesome, actually it was ... Santana while not having his great stuff, still was able to get out of numerous situations without allowing any runs... The Tiger left probably 10 runners on base, I didn't look it up just a guess, so it could have been a Tiger victory with a bit of timely hitting that they have been getting most of the year.
Of course timely hitting goes both ways .... It could have been worse, if the Twins had hit the ball out of the infield more than once, they could have but up 8 runs or more.

Oh well this one got away, on to Tampa and home to Cleveland...
See you Twins fans next Monday - Wensday, this is going to be an interesting month for the Tigers, I've been telling people it's not over yet !!!

Tigers have the following series coming up in August.

T.B, Cleveland, Minnesota, White Sox, Red Sox, Texas, Whitwe Sox, Cleveland, and Yankees

IF the Tigers are still in first by the end of August........

Whew !!!!

Tigers are on a roll! I am surprised they took the first game in the series. It was sad to see Bonderman pitch so well, (again) yesterday, and not get the win.

Tigers left 13 on base
The scorebox at the end had that (Twins left 2)

as for the comment on the turf and tearing the place down. I agree 100000%
The place is a dump. There is a reason its called the BIT (Big Inflatable Toilet)

-seats are small (they're for a 150lb person)
-a fair amount dont even look at the diamond. It was set up for football so anything between the foul poles and 3rd/1st base on the 1st level looks at the cetre fielder. You have to turn to see the game
-walking up the stairs is a death trap. They're so long (there's 33 rows but you feel like you walked a mile)
Upperdeck isn't bad

The Tigers, completing their quest to add a left-handed hitter, acquired first baseman Sean Casey from the Pirates on Monday for Class AA right-hander Brian Rogers, FOXSports.com has learned.

To make room for Casey, the Tigers demoted first baseman Chris Shelton, an early-season phenom, to Class AAA Toledo. Shelton, who hit 10 homers in April, had hit only six since May 1.

Casey, 32, was batting .296 with a .377 on-base percentage, three homers and 29 RBIs in 213 at-bats with the Pirates. He missed approximately six weeks earlier this season with a back injury.

Sean Casey? Okay.
*shrugs*
He's a professional hitter, and a pretty good one. And it doesn't seem like we gave up much to get him (I've never heard of the guy anyway).

So my initial impression is it's a good move. Not a huge - OMG we just clinched the pennant for sure type move, but a good one nonetheless.

I agree ...
Good move and didn't have to shake up the roster at all.

Another comeback win

The Tigers come back againt the Indians tonight with 3 runs in the 8th.
It didn't look good early falling behind 4-0 and 6-2.
White Sox won tonight and Twins are trailing at the moment, so no more gains in the standings tonight....

Great game last night! Craig Monroe, is becoming a stud!

I will be at todays game, sitting in the front row above the Clevenad Bull Pen! I will be hounding them all game long! :)

Absolutely unbelievable - you can never count this team out.

The look on the Cleveland closer's face - one pitch from his first save ever - when Pudge belted his high fastball - priceless!

That needs to be the next Mastercard ad - kinda like the Indians AmEx ad in Major League...

The reason he had that look was because my buddy and I were getting in his head all game long. We were befriending him while he was in the bull pen, then when he got called up, we started our onslaught of ridicule! Carmona was more into being friends with us, than paying attention to the game. He was a cool guy, but he was not a good team player at all. He was keeping us stocked on sunflower seeds whenever we asked for them, giving us baseballs, and after big plays for both teams he would play with us and look back at us and make some sort of gesture!

Best game of my life though! I finally saw a Tigers victory by walk off home run! The place was nuts after that! :)

Well,
Mr Stud,
Ahhh, Craig Monroe came thru again today.
along with good to great pitching (J.Walker was outstanding) Ledezma was a pleasant suprise as well.

btw, ChiSox lost again today.

Up next, tommorow, The Minnesota Twins, again ....
Here's you Twins fans chance to get us back for the last week.

Tigers held Verlander back today, he'll be skipped in the rotation and pitch game one against the ChiSox later in the week.
Thats good, I'm tired of them missing our best pitcher when we play them.
As for Verlander, nothing wrong with him, just a little tired, the arm is fine.
They have been trying to keep his innings pitched under 200 this year, but he keeps pitching good so thats kinda hard to do.
