The Latest AT&T Phone News

at&t the past few months has stopped throttling altogether unless the network is actually congested, I had full speed 100% of the time the last few billing cycles and have been well over 5 GB on my unlimited plan, I am only halfway through my current billing cycle and already over 7 GB without any hint of throttling

Hopefully at&t doesn't get pissed and just say no more unlimited plans or make unlimited plan customers unable to upgrade like verizon did, if they do I will switch to T-mobile, coverage isn't as good but its getting better all the time.

Yeah well none of the carriers can make you switch plans as long as your grandfathered in the FCC prohibits that. So they can do away with plans but you can always stay with the plan you have even if it's not offered anymore. Unless you choose to go with another plan then you would give up the last plan you agreed too.

That's good to know, I believe Verizon lets it's customers keep unlimited plans but you must purchase your devices full price, not at a discount :-(

I am on a grandfathered rate plan that doesn't penalize you for 2 yr upgrades like the new mobile share plans do. Plus my fan discount waives upgrade fees which used to be not a big deal since it was just $18 but have skyrocketed to $45 so that is a nice perk now. Just hope they leave it alone.

Yeah I been on the same plan with Sprint now for at least 4yrs now heck they don't even offer it no more so it's a good plan so I plan on sticking with it. So all I do is two year agreements or this time around I did 24 months lease which means I just update my devices is all.The plan stays the same since all I did was just do a simple upgrade after my 2yr commitment is up. I could have chosen another plan but the old plan that I was grandfather in was better so there was no need to so Sprint right now is the only one of the four letting you lease. Instead of paying $300 for 3 S6 64GB for a 2yr commitment you can lease and pay $10 for each for 24 months instead which is $720 in 2yrs instead of being out $900 for 3 phones in 2yrs. Heck the S8 will probably be out in two more years and your just stuck with phones they you will never get your money back especially since manufactures release them so often. That all being said you almost always better off to stick with your current plans than jump to new ones. :)
