Stargate SG-1 Discussion

Yes, we saw the movie together. I have it on Blu-ray (extended cut). Previously, saw bits and pieces here and there, never a whole episode. And Firefly.

Just one of those things I've always meant to get around to, and finally got a round tuit. ;)

I enjoyed 200 so much I bought the iTunes HD copy of it. To be honest, I forgot all about it. And in doing so realized that seasons 8-10 are available from iTunes in HD. For an outrageous price ($54/season), but in HD. And it explains why SG-1 has looked so good on Netflix. There are a few episodes from season 8, and Pegasus Project from this season that I might just have to buy.

Of course, the next episode up introduces the adult Adria. Sigh. Hello Mother.

The new doctor and new general were big changes, but Cam and Vala changed it the most. Essentially, they needed two characters to replace Jack. That's a tough pill to swallow. The Ori were the bad guys...not that different from the Go'auld, really...what with all their "kneel before your god", blah, blah, blah. They were just different in their approach, but that was about it. The IOA is the political wing getting into things. I didn't like seeing them get involved more either, but I suppose it was inevitable...

And I don't dislike Cam, but no one can replace O'Neill. Period. Vala grows on me, but all things equal, I'd dump her in a heart beat for the "team." And Landry... those big eye brows, just doesn't work. Nobody could truly replace Hammond.

Jack and the general has such great chemistry. I did, however, like Cam and Vala.

Its not bad. I like it more NOW then I did even a month ago. And in fact, I am looking forward to getting to Unending, so I can rewatch the first movie (which I have only seen once). I rematch Continuum regularly, but the Ori one did not draw me for repeat viewings.

Episode titled "2001", a follow up to an episode titled "2010" (and both related to "1969"). Minor detail - the 200 year old Volian newspaper headlines were in an "unknown language" that Daniel was trying to translate. The alphabet was merely shifted by 1 letter. Didn't detract from the story, just something for us fans!

Indeed. :) Three great episodes! And 1969 got due props in 200. Loved them suggesting that O'Neill was Cam's daddy. Apparently from a deleted scene! :D :D

Well, we opened the BB disc today, and were disturbed to see the wear marks on the disc. However, it played well, and better PQ than I expected. We watched the Pilot, Children of the Gods. The disc holds episodes 1 & 2 also.

Will we ever hear again from that blond military woman who was "rejected?" Seems they gave her short shrift. And I trust the lady in the nude scene was less than thrilled about that little bit. Blonde woman, too, I gather.

The pilot was different from the rest of the series(nudity), they did a directors cut a couple of years ago or so that was pretty good... the blond that was rejected is the same in the nude scene if I am thinking of the right person.

Yes. But do we see the blonde again or hear of her fate, or did they just let that one slide by?

Ah- the blonde was nude but you could not see anything. But the frizzy brunette was totally nude- she became the new queen.

Nope, the blonde from the first scene who got taken by the Jaffa? Never seen again. The frizzy brunette - Sha're - you will see many times in the first few season's. And her father too.
