Stargate SG-1 Discussion

The one I spoke of was programmed by students at the college on an HP 2000 mini-computer. It was a fun game for early 80's CRT terminals...

True, they occasionally use zats, but not nearly as much as they used to. Which makes me wonder why zats never made it to Atlantis? They could be handy there too. :)

Really enjoyed both SG1 and SGA on Friday night. SG1 had some good humor in it and SGA was enjoyable, although the plot device (transporter suspension) originated back in a TNG episode with Scotty.

Yeah, I enjoyed the SGA -- It definitely had a star trek feel. And I also thought about the TNG episode when watching it. Of course, these folks had no problem suspending their molecules :D

Friday 5/19's episode was very funny. A complete farse that did not connect to the rest of the series, but so funny. When I saw that actor playing the police captain or whatever, my brother thought I was nuts when I started to laugh uncontrolably because, in my head, I had already connected the dots. I wasn't sure they were going to go the way I thought they were, but the J.M. security guy character and the outright reference to the movie were side-splittingly funny for me!

Sorry I am vague, but those who saw the episode should understand. Those that haven't yet don't have too much of a spoiler. :)

Enjoy!

See ya

Yep, loved T'ealc's "Die Hard" line to Daniel! Laughed out loud at that. Vala's professional theif bit was great too! It was a great laugh, and Cam's line to Daniel about "seaweed" and Daniel's response was classic! :D

If you haven't watched it yet, don't worry, I haven't spoiled anything, but maybe whetted your appetite to watch it. :)

Like Tony said, enjoy!

Linea...when SG1 was imprisoned on that planet with all those other prisoners and Sam told them that all they needed was a power source to power the gate and they could dial out manually. Linea (or however her name was spelled) had this dried seaweed type of stuff that when she put some kind of liquid she had onto it, it glowed, generating power. Linea, they found out later, after they'd taken her back to the SGC with them, was known as "The Destroyer of Worlds". Geez...I've watched way too much of this show. :D

I wonder how many people they will have to get rid of to fund the transfer of Amanda Carter over to SG-A? They certainly dragged out the memorial of Beckett a long time, I always viewed him as supporting cast, not a main character.

Kind of a filler episode, but I guess needed to move the plot along. Need to get some action back into the series, it has been a bit dull since the season has returned.

It was a sort of filler episode, I agree, but a "day in the life" kind of episode with a twist...
Beckett was more of main character than a supporting cast member. He was in almost every episode, many episodes, he was the lead character driving the plot: Wraith biology expert, retro-virus engineer, etc, etc. So, the memorial suited the character. I'll miss him. I liked him more than Rodney, that's for sure.

I really liked Beckett. Sad to see him go. It sure was a different episode.

Darn it, Rodney really should have just gone fishing with him. ;)
