Software Release Notes For the Dish 722k DVR Receiver because it is now showing L8.00.

I just wanted to know what the software release notes are for the Dish 722k Dvr Receiver so i will know for sure. Thanks.

Any good software engineers puts out notes for any software updates. Dish either does not have any good engineers or they don't want us to know what they have updated, since the updates may not work. Its'my guess that they do not have any good software engineers. Well, Dish are you listening?

That's the main reason and to a large degree, it really doesn't matter. If they fixed an issue, great. If they didn't, they didn't. Putting out release notes doesn't change that....

If they did start putting out notes, they would probably look like Microsoft's. Have you ever looked at the description for all the Windows updates released every month? They always have exactly the same boilerplate description.

Dish probably (hopefully) has some sort of bug tracking system internally, but like most companies they don't want that info available to the public.

There absolutely ARE release notes, just not public ones.

Even in the past, if a publicly released one listed 5 items, you can be sure there were dozens and dozens of others that they fixed that are unknown and unseen by users.

I vote for "they don't want us to know". The bug fixes are probably embarrassing to the marginally good engineers and they don't want anybody to know how badly they screw up from time to time.
