Sirius is offering a lifetime membership through the end of June. I am considering jumping on board but don't know a lot about satellite radio. I work in Texas and often have to drive between three and four hours between offices or projects so it would be nice to have a good selection in the car. I would like to get one I can plug into my car but also bring into my office.

In my opinion, a lifetime sub is best suited for a dedicated home unit in a home theater system or bedroom radio. A lifetime sub for a plug and play is a good deal if you keep it for more than 3 years. But technology changes a lot in three years. Although thee is a $75 transfer fee to another unit should you want to upgrade to a new technology receiver. I have 11 subs between XM and SIRIUS and just one lifetime.
