Hi,

I apologize if this has been covered previously but I couldn't find an answer to my problem using the search tool.

I have two Dish receivers, a VIP211 HD box and a DVR 625 box. Approximately two days ago, I lost the signal to my 625 box. After several resets and a thorough cable check, this box is still searching for a signal. I ran the system info test, which resulted in the dreaded "red x" box for all three satellites.

My VIP211 has absolutely no problem receiving a strong signal and passed the system info tests with flying colors, so my question is: what is going on with my 625? I noticed on the "point dish" screen that there is a message stating that a recent software upgrade may make it appear as if I have a lower signal strength, but in truth the signal is the same as it was before the software upgrade. When I checked both the 110 and the 119 using the "Point Dish" tool, I got a strong signal for both, but was told during the 119 check that I was locked on to the wrong satellite (110 W rather than 119). How could this possibly happen? This box was perfectly fine three days ago and my other box is functioning properly.

I apologize if this has been covered already- I am a satellite newbie and a bit clueless regarding the technical side of things. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you have a total of (1)one line going from the dish to each receiver, try swapping locations.

Run a checkswitch on both, now if the 211 is acting up, and the 625 ok, tells you something is wrong with the line going back to the dish. Look for loose connections, broken cable, etc...
