hi,
since last week I am getting signal loss after 5pm. I am in CT and have only single dish pointing at 61.5 for international channels. The weather had not been bad at all, but the signal strength reaches 0. I get the signal back in the morning and the installer cannot help it either. Please advise what could be wrong.

Thanking all u gurus.

Sounds like water in the connections at some point. What are your signals when it's working.

completely agree, i have seen this many of times where in the evening as the sun goes down, and it gets kinda humid, the signal drops out.
or the reverse where if there is a real heavy dew in the morning, the system stops working until it warms up enough to dry the coax out.
I would check and replace all the connectors outside, and any ground blocks, and see if the problem doesn't go away.

Hmmmm what kind of the installer you has, or the installer just do the installation and completely out from of the troubleshooting field? If not the hack installer it must be a $7.00 per hour from dish.

Today the signals are out again. My channels are on transponders 6,11,18. The signal strength falls to 0. At this time transpoder 29 or 31 shows signal strength of 78. As I mentioned earlier I have a single dish pointing 61.5.
Will the signal booster help in my case?
The installer had put RG6 3000MHz rating wire as opposed to 2150MHz. Will this matter?

Thanks for helping.

What part of CT. I'm in startford and had to have 2 dishes installed from dish network. When it was being installed the installer was only going to have one dish with 119. I found that some channels such as 25 and 21 would not come in and the screen said I needed the second dish. He then installed the second dish pointing at 61.5 and they came in.

I did notice I lost the signal from the 61.5 but was able to still get the channels saterday. So maybe the channels get switch over to the other satalite at differant times?

I am located in simsbury area. Due to trees in surrounding areas, I could not get a super dish installed. Since I needed only international channels I was offered option for 61.5 dish and I accepted it. With trees around I was fine so far, until this cold front started kicking in and I started having this problem. Previously with leaves on trees I did not had any problems. Now the leaves are all on ground and there is a clear line of sight to the sky as well and now I have this problem. This is so strange. I think this is something to do with cold front and I cannot figure out what I can do. I have climbed onto the roof and checked the connectors, no water. I tightened the connectors and still no results.
Sometimes the smallest things is hard to find.
Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it.
