Second Hopper was the deal breaker

Im in central Oregon actually. Been here since 2008. Had a shop in NW Arizona from 97 -2007. Like it alot better here but the snow can be a pain. Still, it beats 160 degree attics and the variety of deadly things you encounter under peoples houses in the desert.

I am in southern Washington, my reps have not told me squat. Who is your rep at RSI?

I dont interface with them, the owner of the shop does. I have a grudge against RS&I from back in the NRTC Directv days when they cost me $20, 000 and my Dtv dealership. Screw them. I can find out who the rep is though. What is it you want to know?

i dont know if anyone still wants to know if you can get a 2nd hopper free. thread is a little old. but yes you can. I just did it today as a new customer. A few steps but i was surprised they did it. i thought i was switching to direct tv when i call them. but if anyone is interested let me know.

order a 4 room system with 3 joeys and 1 hopper. wait about 1 day and then call and tell them you want to cancel. they will transfer you to the customer retention department. tell them you did not know that the hopper only had 3 tuners. you are installing 4 tv's. you found out that direct tv geini has 5 tuners in one box. you have scheduled an install with direct tv since there is no additional equipment cost with them. you would be interested in dish but as you understand it there is a upgrade fee to get roughly the same amount of tuners. they will more then likely set you up with 2 hoppers and 2 joeys and wave the upgrade fee. when they come to do the install you can refuse one of the joeys and change your mind. or wait till he leaves and send it back to dish.

and btw....now is the only time you can get them to do something for you. once they do the install you are locked into contract. so between the time you place your order and your install is when you want to kick your feet.

hope this helps. worked for me anyway.
