I hope I'm wrong, but I have the strange feeling that we won't see any new HD this year! Especially the channels that direct is putting up. Just speculation but I think Charlie is really no longer interested in DISH as long term venture for his pocket, just a quick cash flow.

Speaking of the holidays...these uplink reports remind me of when my aunt talked for weeks about having something special for me for Christmas when I was a kid, and it turned out to be a set of pencils with my name on them. You get your hopes up only to have them crushed by Dish's lack of giving a damn about the butt whooping they are getting from Directv.

There are a lot of new spot beams coming to life at 61.5º. This means that quite a few transponders can be used for HD local channels in much of the US. It may also free up some ConUS transponders for more national HD channels.

I notice none of these channels are listed in the master list of DISH channels , so I take it that this means MORE Hd locals that haven't been announced yet. OR maybe they are finally adding the rest of the hd locals that they were supposed to have launched by the end of 2006.
If they are doing this to add HD Locals, is it safe to assume they'll all be added to 61.5 and not 129?
