We're getting a revised tour schedule of the historic places in Ionia from our hosts, and will post soon!
Minor changes...a swap in a couple of items for better "tour-ing" so to speak!

Looking forward to the weekend!

Its just bad timing for this year. The cinema and drive-in visits sound pretty cool.
Maybe next years.

Cheers, K

Please take some pictures.

While I am going to be on the WION Morning show... I am happy to learn that I won't be on their live webcam as we broadcast. Looks like the camera is broken. (Yeah!) :D :D

I thought about what I posted, and realized it was a stupid thing to do... now he has a reason to FIX the camera. :)

BTW if any SatelliteGuys Members are able to help out The American Cancer Society as we will be walking in the Relay For Life! We are looking for support for BOTH WION Radio Teams, I would like to get BOTH teams past their goal of $100. If you have the resources and if Cancer has touched you or your family I urge all of you to make a pledge today! You can pledge at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/wionam and http://main.acsevents.org/goto/wionpm

THANK YOU FOR HELPING FIGHT THIS KILLER!

Sending regrets. I am down in Indianapolis for a national car rally this weekend. Have fun, and am thinking of you all.

I'll wear my satguys tee shirt on Saturday, just because.

This just in... (Sad News actually) my Aunt Linda has been battling cancer for 4 or 5 years now, the family has just been told by Doctors that they don't expect her to make it through the end of the week. She has been a fighter all these years... I can't count the number of times doctors have said she only has a few months to live. She has been strong and living on overtime.

So now this Relay For Life event just became very personal for me. :(

Remember the link to donate is http://main.acsevents.org/goto/wionam or http://main.acsevents.org/goto/wionpm. Please only donate because you can.\

Thank you.

Really hate to hear that Scott.Cancer is the worst.Thoughts and prayers to your aunt and your families.

Sorry to hear of your aunts battle, I have a close friend with his sister fighting the same challenge.

Looking forward to making it Saturday, hopefully in time for the tour but worst case the dinner and event. Sad to report that my wife has to work Saturday evening so it will be just me.

For those attending make sure to bookmark this thread as Jim is doing something (hes cooking up something) so the schedule is subject to change. Also again if you want to PM me I can give you my contact info incase you have any problems. :)

I look forward to seeing everyone in Ionia!

I am heading out early tomorrow morning, so I will be off the grid for awhile as I take in everything Ionia. :)

Tonite, (Thursday, 7/11) We gathered at the Lamplight Grill on Main Street, Ionia (as our staff and friends usually do) to welcome Scott and Eva to Ionia, relax and kind-of go over the plans for the weekend! We have some approximate times of tours of the historical points in our town we'll be going over, and we'll post more tomorrow for anyone wanting to drive-over and say hello!

Don't forget Scott joins us on the show Friday morning, and even though he's on vacation, we hope he'll be with us early!!
Tentatively we give a tour of the station after the morning show, and Friday will bring:

a 2PM tour of the Ionia County Courthouse
Midday--open...
.
6PM: Blanchard House Museum Tour

8PM: Drive-in Theater.

Remember, times/events are subject to change, but for the most part, this group enjoys eating, and can be found together
around mealtimes! Feel free to e-mail WION's office, or post messages here and we'll fill you in on changes, times, etc!

And, don't forget the morning show Friday is simulcast on satellite guys radio!

Welcome to Ionia, folks!

It's Friday!
We had a fun morning show with Scott and Eva here from Satellite Guys!
This afternoon it's a guided tour of our historic courthouse on Main Street, then the Blanchard House museum at 6PM...

Rumor is that they'll be VIP's at Danny Boy's Drive-In Theater....

Saturday....we have a 9AM visit to Ionia's Relay for Life, at the Ionia High School. The event continues through NOON on Saturday.
Also on Saturday at 1PM, an interesting historic tour of the Ionia Community Library, followed by the 700-seat Ionia Theatre at 2PM...

Then, in the evening, Satguys members: Please join us at the Lamplight Grill at 7PM.....as we have a dinner together and Scott awards some nice prizes
to satellite guys members in attendance, as kind of a "kick off" to the celebration of 10 years of the SATGUYS site!

PS...did you hear the announcement he made this morning on the show?

And, we continue to provide WION this weekend on Satguys radio while our guests are in the area! Please enjoy!

Had a GREAT day today! Had fun on the morning show and seeing all of Ionias Historic sites today!

Had a great dinner with everyone at the Lamplight Grill which has become our official hang out spot here in Ionia. :)

Looking forward to tomorrow, we plan on being at the Relay for life at around 10, The Relay now means even more to now as we got word this afternoon that my Aunt Linda passed away earlier this afternoon. :(

Today was almost a perfect day! Thanks to Jim (Radio) for being our hosts we feel like royalty here.

BTW if you are driving in tomorrow and your radio supports RDS when in Ionia tune into FM 92.7 and watch your screen. :)

Thanks, Scott for the nice words!

Stopped out to Relay for life tonite. Was there for the beginning of the name-reading and luminary observation. Very moving.

Will continue tomorrow. Relay ends at 11AM with the closing ceremony, and walking til around noon-ish.

We expect to tour the Ionia Community Library (formerly an historic home, now our library) and the historic Ionia Theatre!

Don't forget Satguys gathering at 7PM at the Lamplight Grill on Main Street, Ionia.

On the schedule tomorrow, tours of the station available for our friends that visit, please post your request here, or call our studio line of 616-527-9466
as you get near the town, your message will forward to us! No worries, it won't go on the air, but your call will help us to better plan your visit!
