Occasionally my wife's Hopper will have all three tuners in use, and it will record a 4th show on my Hopper. Last night using her Hopper I saw a show starting in a few minutes and was too busy (lazy) to go downstairs to mine and set up a recording from there. Is it possible to be using one Hopper and make it to record on another? Thanks!

Yes, when all tuners are in use on one, you can make it record on the other. If there is a free tuner, however, you cannot transfer the timer hopper to hopper like that.

I have had a window pop up saying that there "might" be a conflict and would I like to record on the other Hopper many times. Well, No. I always select no and there are no problems, it makes the timer on the Hopper I am on and that's it. Although there was one time I was setting a timer for Grandma and would tell her it was on my machine. But to my delight I got the "record on the other Hopper" window, so I was able to make it record on her machine. I think it was a one time only. So the one time it worked out. But I get them all the time and there's no reason, and when I chose "No" it does as it should.

Enter a new "issue". At some point and time Grandma set a timer for "So you think you can dance". The timer is on her HwS, but it records on mine all the time. I have no timer in my listings for it so I can't stop it on my HwS.

So being able to set a timer on another Hopper shouldn't be a problem. . . Parenthetically. Just a little software juggling. Wait lots of problem to deal with first. I'll just put that on a bucket list.

Chad41: "you cannot transfer the timer hopper to hopper like that." I was afraid that would be the answer, but I've been known to miss well-known features before.
SandFarmer: Bucket list for sure. I'd put this feature after they fix the ridiculously frustrating Search, and give us folder options for EHD.

The New UI doesn't ask you that anymore.
Hopefully the Permanent national UI
will bring that back.

You mean it just records it there automagically or no more shared timers? I'd be rather upset if the latter is the case, which I gather is what you're saying.

Even more than EHD folders, I'd like to see each EHD have a name. You can't count on which EHD spins up first when there's more than one. So you don't know which one is EHD 1, etc.

Maybe you can't but my 500 GB drive always spins up before my 3 TB drive so I know which is EHD 1 and which is EHD 2.
