I'm new so I don't know if I'm posting this in the location. Has anyone experimented with placing all of the receivers, Hopper and Joeys, in a single location? For example in a network room? I'm considering a future "Home Automation system".
Thanks,

I placed a Joey in between TV locations. I used a 50' HDMI for the most used HDTV and a RF modulator to the mirrored secondary SDTV's. I paired remotes to all TV's and fortunately was in the remotes transmitting distance.

The hopper has a external antenna. The Joeys do not.. It is internal.. So I do not think there operating range is that far. And no way to extend it..

I can't get that, I wish I could get that. 50' max. for me.

The 200 foot number is likely with no obstructions and probably a very best case. I wouldn't expect that distance in real world environment with multiple floors and walls between.

I've done about 30 feet through two floors on the hopper and its' working pretty well so far. Haven't had a need to test further than that yet.

Unfortunately I have my connections at 200+ at this time. Had DTV dish mounted on house, new Dish for Hopper system, which needs to see 3 different Satelite locations needed to be put on a pole at the end of my property. I have a heavily wooded acre in Magnolia, Texas. I am 146' away from my house, the 3 RG6 cables leave the LNB go 146' to a ground buss, then 28' into attic to distribution panel where the duo node is. From the duo node I have 57' run to one of my hoppers. The 2 hopper 4 Joey system works ok. My signal for my tuners is mid 50s to 60.
