Is there any rhyme or reason regarding sports blackouts?

I understand the rules when it comes to out of market baseball games. You don't get the RSN games out of your market.

But I live in Erie, PA, and am in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh markets. Occasionally I get the ESPN baseball games blacked out. Last time it was a St. Louis- Cubs games. No reason for that one.

Then on Saturday, Sportstime Ohio was carrying the Browns-Lions game on tape delay at 11:30 PM and on Sunday morning at 9:00. Both time blacked out.

Just don't get it.

A lot of blackouts occure because the games are offered on a local channel....And even if it's a local channel you don't get. Happens to me here in Vermont too. 3 of my so called "local channels " aren't avaliable on E* and I can't even get them with antenna. But nothing you can do.

Well, ESPN should know by now that Dish does not carry the YES network and stop blocking us out from seeing the Yankees here in Yank territory. Just give it to Dish like you do the rest of the country!

HDMI Cable ?

What VOD channels do you have?
