Finally about to cut the cord on my legacy Comcast Cable "backup" I've kept for years for reasons I can't logically explain. Got my HWS OTA module in & after a ton of research, opted for the Mohu Sky antenna for in-the-attic mounting. My primary stations vary from 25 miles to 39 miles in the opposite direction & having tried another antenna when HD first came out with less than stellar results, I have fretted over how effective this new venture would be. To my surprise & relief, I saddled up everything tonight for an initial test with the Sky antenna sitting on my Dining Room table and scanned 13 channels of pristine reception. Most of these were secondary channels (I guess) and had no clue they existed. From the interior of my house, signal strength ran from the 60's with the top 2 @ 70. Needless to say, I'm delighted with the Sky & can't wait to see how it performs once set up in the attic. I anticipate a further improvement with the added height & less obstructive view. For anyone looking for a small, ultra lightweight antenna solution for medium distance reception, the Sky is worth a look.

Pretty impressive!

I don't know for sure but is to me. I bolted the Sky upside down in an accessible (but far less than ideal) spot in the attic & found better performance all around. Daytime scan revealed 16 channels, 6 of which I saved to the channel guide for actually viewing - no reason to add useless clutter on the rest. Three of the six are @ 100% & the other three are @ 70% or above.

I wish Puerto Rico didn't have so many mountains, my ClearStream2 from antennas direct picks up all of my UHF channels perfectly using an in-line amp. Sadly, there is 1 vhf channel it doesn't pick up due to the mountains/distance(60miles). Overall another good recommendation for anyone interested in a good OTA antenna.

One question to close the topic. All is running exceptionally well with strong OTA signals with no perceptible loss even in moderate rainfall. If (when) rain fade knocks out satellite reception can I assume that the OTA channels will remain functional or, is it recommended to use a splitter with a duplicate feed going directly to the TV monitor?

Satellite reception and OTA reception are totally independent. There's no such thing as rain fade for OTA signals, so if your satellite signals fail, you'll still get the same OTA reception you always do on your Dish receiver.

On my main TV I use an A/B switch for OTA duplicate feed direct to the Hopper and TV monitor. But, I only had to switch the switch to TV one time long time ago. I rarely have rain fade issues but when it happens sometimes I have discovered the only way to get to the OTA channels is by using the guide. If pressing the up/down, guide, or channel buttons don't work, I usually can get to the guide thru the Menu button, select Guide, and then select the OTA channel you want. I like your Mohu Sky antenna. Pretty cool looking.
