NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

The sport media hype these guys up ALL the time, then the moment they get duped by them, they go out of their way to tear them down. There is NO MEDIA more vindictive than sports or entertainment media. The same media that kissed your a$$ will love to tear it a new one.

Taking this award away will do absolutely NOTHING ....
Big deal, you take my trophy away.

Why did they NFL take ALL season to find out this was happening.
Actually they knew about it, and it was appealed.
The appeal process should take no more than a few days, a week at most.

I saw in the transactions that the Cowboys have traded Bobby Carpenter to the Rams.
The only reason this makes it of interest is that it puts Carpenter back together with James Laurenitis former Buckeye's that have played in the same D previously.

Who was the third linebacker then for the Buckeyes? I forget. I remember he was good in college, do not know if he made it to play on Sundays.

Steelers put Sweed on IR. That's how close the Raiders were to having to pay Russell his 2010 salary... one twist of the knee. Was really stupid to have him come to camp at all.

Also, the NFL just scored a $200m Beer sponsorship deal, and is on the virge of a new HDTV deal with Vizio after Sammy let the current deal expire while trying to get the amount of the sponsorship reduced.

Wait a second. Didn't Carpenter play with AJ Hawk? Doesn't take much to confuse me!

Sandra

Yes, Carpenter played with Hawk. Laurenitis was younger than both of them though I think.

You got it correct, Laurenitis is the youngest guy, he came in when Carpenter went down in the M game Laurenitis's freshman year.

A J Hawk and Carpenter were 2 of the 3, Malcolm Jenkins comes to mind as the third, but I think I'm off on that as I think he played CB..... don't remember who was the third LB in Hawks day.

Marcus Freeman was the third LB with AJ and Bobby.

Who is the beer sponsor ?

The news on Sweed is not a surprise, he blew out an achillies on the last day of practice.

:eek::eek: Are you kidding?

Could JaMarcus Russell find a landing spot with the Cincinnati Bengals?

That possibility was raised on Tuesday when Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco said on Twitter that he would "see" Russell in minicamp. Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in 2007, was cut by the Raiders last week.

The Cincinnati Enquirer then reported that Russell's agent, Ethan Lock, had no comment on the possibility of the QB joining the Bengals. ESPN reported that the Bengals were one of several teams to inquire about Russell, but that no deal with any club was imminent.

If Russell ended up in Cincinnati, he would join other players (such as Cedric Benson, Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson and Matt Jones) whom the Bengals took a chance on after their stock fell. -- Sean Leahy

........... and Dumerville is skipping out of voluntary workouts in a contract dispute (with $$ being the reason Brandon Marshall was moved). ...........

Dumerville IS NOT in a contract dispute, at all. He is working out with his father in Florida. He is currently another victim of the CBA dispute, along with many other players in the NFL.

LOL, Dumervil not in a contract dispute but is a victim of the CBA, that's some nice spin there. He has yet to sign his RFA offer... I'm sure it's because he just loves life or something and hasn't gotten around to it?

I just wanted to throw this back in your face.....:D in fun, of course....:p

Dumervil showed up at VOLUNTARY minicamp this week. Was here on Sunday, and practiced with everyone else on Monday. He even signed an injury waiver because he has not signed his tender.

NO CONTRACT DISPUTE.

...now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
