NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

yep......knew this was gonna happen....

...He failed the test Thursday and Friday, then didn't take it Saturday because of a small amount of swelling in his left knee.

Haynesworth is the only Redskins player required to take the test because he skipped the team's offseason conditioning program. Everyone else had a grade of at least 50 percent participation.

The Associated Press: Haynesworth again doesn't take conditioning test

So NOW, because of the combination of being out shape AND trying to show everyone how big the coach "has 'em" ...you have quite possibly, the best player on your team teetering on injury.

So, let's fine his a$$ and move on to get that guy back into playing shape and mental shape.

Damn do I dislike Shanna-douche.

Looks like IF you made 50 % of the OTA 's this summer you ddi not have to take the test as they have already stretched you out during the OTA's.

Doesn't look like it's as one sided as it seams.

Players had to run 2 - 300 yard shuttles.

This is embarrassing for Haynesworth ....

To show what is happening, Mike Golic is going to run the same test after the Mike and Mike show this morning.

He feels he should be able to make it fine.

He has 70 seconds to make the first run and 73 for the second one.

We'll see. :)

Btw, Golic has been out of the league for about 12 years now.

Karma.

Revis holdout looks like it could last awhile...

Hmmm......interesting.

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Forget "Hard Knocks." This is more like "Hard Ball."

The contract dispute between the New York Jets and star Darrelle Revis escalated toward nasty Sunday, when the disgruntled cornerback refused to report to training camp. His New York-based agent, Neil Schwartz, told ESPNNewYork.com that Revis won't show up until he receives a new contract.

That could be a while, based on the tenor of the negotiations.

General manager Mike Tannenbaum, who rarely discusses contract negotiations publicly, revealed that he made two "substantial" proposals last Thursday to Revis -- a long-term offer that would've made him a "Jet for life" and a short-term offer that would've increased his $1 million salary for 2010. Both proposals were rejected Friday night, Tannenbaum said.

He didn't provide any specifics; neither did Schwartz, who said: "Darrelle's actions speak volumes about the offers."

Revis is to make $1 million in the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal. He wants to be the league's highest-paid cornerback, a distinction that belongs to Nnamdi Asomugha, who signed a three-year, $45.3 million extension with the Raiders last offseason.

By holding out, Revis will incur a $16,523-a-day fine and waive future guarantees in his current contract. Based on a clause, the $20 million he's scheduled to earn in 2011 and 2012 goes from guaranteed to non-guaranteed salary. That he's willing to take that risk indicates the depth of his frustration. He has three years remaining on his rookie deal.

According to a source, the Jets' latest proposal includes no fully guaranteed money and his total compensation in 2010 would be less than $5.3 million -- the amount given to left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson in his recent extension.

Uh oh. If Revis holds out, count the Jets out of being Super Bowl contenders.

Jeff Fisher and the Titans (Haynesworth's former employer) agrees with the way the Redskins & Shanny are handling the Fat-Albert situation...

"That's the test we do - the 300-yard shuttle with a recovery time and then another one," Titans Coach Jeff Fisher told reporters. "What we do is ... if you've made a minimum number of offseason workouts, then the test is modified.

"Those that have been here for at least eight offseason workouts, it's a 300-yard shuttle, [but] they will run 50-yard increments instead of 25-yard shuttles, so it's a little bit easier. The 25-yard, 300-yard shuttle is an appropriate test for what kind of shape you're in."

Redskins Insider - Fisher: Test Haynesworth failed twice with Redskins is the same one Titans use

Browns 2nd round RB selection, Tennessee's Montario Hardesty sidelined with injured knee. The much doubted and under-appreciated Jerome Harrison to get the majority of snaps.

IF you read the 1st day, Haynesworth DID the two that was requested from him. BUT Shanna-douche thought he took too much time in between the 2 and made him run a third.

So what you're suggesting is letting the inmates run the asylum? That would be a very bad precedent. There needs to be order and as long as the head coach is in charge, he sets the rules. Otherwise, tough beans. Go bag groceries.

Instead of complaining, maybe blubber-butt will have a few less Twinkie's and a few more laps on the treadmill next off season? :D

Nah. Enough people will tell him it's not his fault, it's somebody else's fault for making the test a little too hard for the poor thing.

What I am saying is he did what was asked on day one. Run 2 300s. Shanna-stain did not like that, according to HIM, he took too long between the two 300s(which ALL players got a rest ast stated in all articles), and made him run a 3rd.

THAT is what I am saying. He was not running the asylum. He is not liked by the coach. You know what...trade him or release him.
