Just for comparison, here are Manning's numbers, do you have Bradys handy?

Manning finished the season with 4,659 yards, 37 touchdowns and a 105.8 passer rating, all second best in his 15-year career.
No doubt Peyton is very good, and better than expected following his neck surgeries. But those numbers are probably inflated due to the fact that the AFC West is just awful this year (and most other years).

I think the game I'm most looking forward to this weekend is Seattle @ Washington. I love watching both Griffin and Wilson play. 1st home playoff game for the Skins since 1999, should be a great atmosphere at FedEx.

I was thinking the same....should be a fun game to watch!

In hindsight you gotta give it to Irsay, sucking for Luck has turned out to be great for the Colts.

Coaching Carousel begins...

Lovie Smith fired from Bears
Chan Gailey fired from Bills
Andy Reid fired from Eagles
Shurmur and Heckert fired from Browns
Tannebaum Fired from Jets
Romeo Crennel fired from Chiefs
Adam Shefter reports that the Chargers aren't interested in Reid.

The only one on that list that I'd like to have as the Chargers' next coach is Lovie Smith. I hope that Carolina fires Ron Rivera. I'd take him as a head coach. And I hope that AJ Smith and Norv Turner are canned today so that the replacement process can start.

1. Lovie did not deserve it.
2. Chan has been a Norv lite, great OC, so-so HC.
3. Andy was only responsible because he was running the ship. His OL was horrible and as much as I love Vick, he was so-so at best.
4. Shumur should have been given more time. Young team that needs stability.
5. Owner thought that they were gonna get champagne out of piss in Jets camp. There was little to no talent on that team offensively. Funny how they didn't fire the HC because his big mouth generates headlines in the NY media. Just what ownership wants..almost more than putting on a quality product.
6. Felt bad for Romeo, his team was picked by many to win the division....and they under achieved. They had finally proved once a for all that it was the system that made Cassell.

Notice that Denver swept the AFC West. All their losses were against other conferences.

And? That's 3 games prior to their what, 11 game winning streak? In a season they scored 30+ in 11 games? On a team where Manning didn't come in and learn a system, but rather brought a system to 50+ other players and taught it to them while leading them to the #1 seed in the conference?

Sound like an MVP to me, while just saying just 'weak division' and 'they lost 3 games outside their division' come across as really poor arguments, especially on their own in single posts as if they're more convincing stats than they actually are.

Peterson led his team to a 7 game improvement over last season.

The Patriots scored more points than the Broncos, so I guess Brady should get the MVP?

I look at it this way, if you put an average QBS in Denver, they more than likely, win the division. If you take AD from Minnesota, they may win 6-7 games...and they have no playoff chances.

I would give the slight nod to AD. As far the Manning vs. Brady...Brady is been such a consistent machine that people at what he does and say, "so what, it's Brady.. He does it all the time...". Which to me is unfair... But that is what high expectations do.

Not comparing him to Michael Jordan, it but its similar when Barkley and Karl Marlone won it....

He's a beast but not the only guy on his team like many are suggesting, they were 4-1 in games he had less than 90 yards rushing. You guys knock Manning for a weak division while Peterson put up his biggest numbers (almost HALF of his 2k) in 6 games against division opponents with poor rush defense.

Manning would have better numbers if they didn't pull ahead and sit on leads (which is where mentioning the score comes in). They looked like they've been running that offense for years when in reality only a few of then had run it for any length of time and 50+ others had to learn it.

The one liner shots at Manning convince nobody. I agree that Peterson has been a beast and belongs in the conversation and he will understandably get some votes, but my vote would go to Manning. His biggest problem could be making it look too easy.

Took bad AP didn't get 27 more feet.

Let's face it...life is not fair and the MVP is a popularity contest. Manning is going to win this year and there is nothing that can be said or done to prevent it. Heck, Detroit's Johnson set a single season reception record surpassing Jerry Rice...and I don't believe he is even being mentioned in the Top 10 candidates.
