As scary as the Pats looked last night, I am going to assume that IF their is playoff meeting between these two teams again, the result will be a much closer score or possibly Houston winning. I have seen this in the past, team gets blown out in the regular season, licks their wounds, learns from the ass kicking, plans better and plays a better game when they meet in the playoffs.

None the less....the Pats looked scary.

As I said yesterday, it happened to the Patriots just two years ago. They beat the Jets on the week 14 MNF game, 45-3 and then lost to them in the playoffs a month later.

That said, I don't see that happening to them this year, but you never know.

Yep....for as sad I am my Raiders are not in it AGAIN...these playoffs are WIDE open. But there are team we ALL know have a better chance than others of going farther.

It should be fun.

SImilar scenario with the Broncos, they played the Pats much too early in the season, and the team ( offense AND defense) are playing much better now. And that offense has gelled nicely since then.

It would definitely be a better football game.

I'm really looking forward to the NFC Playoffs. The NFC is loaded with quality teams.

On the AFC side, I agree with Hart......it's gonna come down to the Patriots and Broncos. Brady vs.
Manning, again. But I want no part of playing in Denver in January. The last time the Pats did that, the Broncos ended the Pats chance of a threepeat.

That's why I think it would be better for the Patriots if the Ravens beat Denver on Sunday. If the Pats were to slip up against the 9ers, the Ravens have the Giants and @Bengals left while the Broncos have Cleveland and KC at home to end the season. Broncos aren't losing either of those games.

Go Pigeons! ;)

Yup, you're right. And I think if there's a three way tie with the Pats/Broncos/Ravens, the Pats would own the tiebreaker for the #2 seed.

Save for 2 Colts SB trips, the AFC has been the Pittsburgh and New England show essentially since 2003.

The Patriots (5), Steelers (3) and Colts (2) have accounted for 10 of the last 11 AFC Championships. The 2002 Raiders are the only other team to crash the party in that time period.

Over the same period, there have been 10 different NFC Champions. Only the Giants have won twice.

Don't feel bad...I'm a Lions and Rainders fan. Perhaps we can form an unhappy miserable old bastard division (aka the "We've been beaten Black & Blue" division. :(

I find it ironic that the 3 teams I like the best, almost have identical records: Raiders are 3-10, Lions and Eagles are 4-9.:(

I feel both your guys pain.Life long Eagles and Dolphins fan,Eagles my absolute favorite though. Also like the Panthers as they are our home team. All 3 are having rough years.

Sunday was a better feeling though, the come back win with Foles at Qb was great!!Gives hope that he can be the guy next year. The D also played much better after giving Washburn and his wide 9 the boot!
Panthers knocking off the Falcons was sweet too,Newton finally looked like he did last year.
As to the Dolphins..they have improved but I'm not convinced that Tannehill is the answer. They do need a big play wr but,I would like to see Tannehill have a breakout game like Foles did.

Bill,
I wouldn't worry about playing the Bronco's in Denver in Jan, the Pats are notorious for playing well in the elements.

I believe the pats have won 22 games in a row for the month of december

I wouldn't be at all surprised.Hope that's not the case though.
