NFL 2009-10 Season

Broncos reinstated the best player on their team by a mile, Brandon Marshall.

If he causes more trouble, the Broncos have said that they will pursue an escalating scale of discipline.

Hopefully they keep him and if he causes more trouble BENCH him, not trade him, treading him is what he wants and you would just get more of the same ....

Imagine that, they Re Instate him just in time for the Regular season ..... that my friends is pathetic ....... but expected.
the guy didn't want to practice or pay in preseason games anyways, they basically gave him what he wanted ... a vacation with pay..

That'd be awesome. Poor Raiders. If the trade wasn't contingent on a physical or anything it's still happened, they'd just own his rights (the same way the Bucs own Plummer's rights) and the Pats would still get the first round pick. As King points out, Seymor would be giving up a lot to sit out this year, he's got a 1 year deal, but he wouldn't become a FA in the uncapped year. He'd be giving up millions and then I think he'd still be a Raider because of the FA rules in an uncapped year.

A bit surprising, Stafford is names starting QB for lions. I thought Culpepper would get the nod to start the season

I think I heard that Cullpepper was hurt, that's why I think they went ahead and named Stafford now.
If Cull is hurt, that made it a no brainer .... but the media's making a big deal out of it , but no one is reporting that Cull was hurt, nothing like doing your homework !

Cable shows us again ("nothing happened") that we can't believe what he says. Said that he's spoken to Seymor and that he's told him he wants to play for Oakland, and that he's not in California yet because he's still working out issues with the Patriots.

The Patriots have said they aren't working anything out, and have nothing pending with him.

Patriots: Unaware of any problems with Seymour trade | ProFootballTalk.com

Cable said:
Asked how he knows that Seymour wants to be in Oakland, Cable said, "I have talked to him."

Said another reporter, presumably emphasizing the last work of his question: "So he said he wants to be here?"

"Yes," Cable said.

Patriots said:
Patriots spokesman Stacey James, however, said he was unaware of any difficulties surrounding the deal.

PFT wrote up an article about what would happen if he decided not to play... the gist is that he wouldn't be able to play anywhere 5 days after receiving a letter from the Pats/Raiders about not reporting, and it's optional at that point that the team can add him to the 'reserve/left team' list similar to what happened with Plummer. The Broncos and Bucs still arranged for his rights to stay with the Bucs... depending on how this contract is worded if he doesnt show for a physical or they dont make a new arrangement between the clubs.

Worse case, he doesnt report, basically calls it a career, Raiders lose their 2011 first round pick due to a poorly setup trade. Best case, assuming there's a ton of spilled milk here, the whole trade gets called off.

Reports are saying that Merriman's defense is going to be that he was trying to prevent her from drunk driving.

So, could get more interesting. Tila Tequila is allergic to alcohol, she goes by that name because of the irony or something apparently.

Some interesting comments on her Twitter acct...

But regardless, this was not a DUI charge or anything to do with alcohol....but props for spinning it that way...Tomorrow the truth comes.

Steroid use makes people act aggressive....known fact.

I haven't release an official statement on what happened yet because I didn't lie, so no need to release 3 statements to "cover" myself....

Report: Bruschi to ESPN

By: Mike Petraglia

The always personable Tedy Bruschi will be using his charm and charisma in a new field - television. One week after announcing his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons, the former Patriots linebacker will join ESPN as an in-studio analyst, according to a report in the Boston Herald. The paper reports Bruschi will work on 'NFL Live' and 'SportsCenter,' and could make his first appearance as soon as Thursday night, when the Steelers host the Titans in the NFL opener. He is also expected to be a contributor to ESPN Radio and ESPN.com.

In a bit of a surprise, the Patriots cut WR Greg Lewis.

Lewis, acquired from the Eagles in the offseason, was projected to be the Pats fourth receiver behind Moss, Welker and galloway.

BTW, Bill, I may be a diehard Bills fan, but I really do not like their chances against the Pats.

I'm not saying it'll be another 56-10 game, but it will be VERY lopsided.

I would love to see Buffalo win, but I don't see it happening- I will not be shocked if N.E. scores 40.

Yeah I don't see that being a lopsided game, just a very surgical win by the Patriots, with most of the game being a sloppier Bills team chipping their way down the field looking, playing behind and making some mistakes.

You want a blowout, watch Chiefs @ Baltimore.

Pats trade Richard Seymour to Raiders - BostonHerald.com

Can't believe they traded Seymour, can't believe they got a top 10 pick for a guy in the final year of his contract.

Guess the Pats will play a lot more 4-3 now. I don't think they are done with final roster yet.

That Belichick is one sneaky SOB! Getting a 1st round (probably a top 10) pick for a veteran who won't be resigned next year?! Another reason why Belichick is the best in the business (as much as it pains me to say it)....

Wow, retirement didn't last long for Teddy, did it?! And I fully anticipated him going into TV. He's a very articulate speaker with a lot of game knowledge. He'll be an asset for ESPN, that's for sure.

In related news, Garcia, Frye and Gradkowski all were former Browns QB's. BTW, why in the world did they cut the best QB on their roster (yes, including J-Marc)?!!

Because Garcia was injured most of the preseason....was ineffective when he did comeback and because ALL 3 other QBs totally and completely outplayed him....and finally, they offered him to stay on the practice squad....knowing he would say no, but they gave him the veteran courtesy to ask...and as expected, he rejected it.

And as you can see, there has been NO MASSIVE rush to sign him.;)

Mangini Selcts QB.... But he's not telling!!!

Mangini said Monday he's decided between Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson, but won't announce it during the week. He also said he'll tell the two quarterbacks in independent conversations in the near future.

"I've made a decision," he said. "I'll clearly explain [to the quarterbacks] what the decision was based on, why I made the decision that I did and what my expectations are. And my expectations will be clearly that they support each other at all times, they support the team at all times and they both prepare as if they were the No. 1 quarterback."

He said announcing it publicly is "not something I plan to do. I understand everybody has a different opinion on it. I respect that, I understand the excitement in relationship to that and I respect that as well. But it will be internal."

He stressed that it will force the Vikings to spend time watching film of both guys.

A lot of anticipation is growing in Cleveland. Waking up Sunday morning for Mangini to reveal his starter will be like Christmas morning for Cleveland Browns faithful!!!

I'm pretty sure Garcia is ineligible to join the practice squad, you can only join one your first couple years in the league or something. There hasn't been much of a rush on any QBs, he'll likely land somewhere this season that needs a veteran backup after an injury has hit a team, but no point bringing on someone who has a higher minimum salary right now.

NCAA proposes tough taunting, concussion rules

Is it possible to watch MLB.TV on a TV?
