NFL 2009-10 Season

Just heard the Raiders cut Jeff Garcia.

I like Gradkowski, but Garcia is better than both him and Frye, don't like that move as a football fan, love the move as a Chiefs fan.

Raiders also cut their 4th round pick, Slade Norris. Though unlike the 6th round pick they cut before even giving him a contract, at least he was a Raider for some period of time.

Chiefs finished their move to 53... among the cuts were Brady-knee-killer Pollard and the injured Zach Thomas (who denied reports he's retiring, may have been a ploy to be cut so he got a little $$). Chiefs still have 4 QBs on the roster... Cassel, Thigpen, Croyle and Gutierrez.

Probably be a lot more movement as teams shuffle/cut players to make room for castaways from other teams.

I like Gradkowski too.
He did alot of very good things here in Toledo, playing for the Rockets :up

I hope he gets a fair shake somewhere down the road in the NFL.

Well with that Raider shaky offensive line (a requirement for being a team in the AFC West unless you're called the Chargers I guess), the backup QBs could become pretty important. We'll see though, Al may be in love with some of the other QBs that became available today like DJ Shockley or Chase Daniel.

Thigpen was rumored to have almost been sent to Jacksonville at one point, but they've now traded for Luke Mccown and sent an undisclosed pick to Tampa for him.

I'd rather see Gradkowski with a good team as a back up for a bit, going to the Raider's I didn't see being a good move for him but I guess it's better than being out of work.

LOL....Tila is also a ..***.....but yeah...Merriman could have dealt with her better.

Pats trade Richard Seymour to Raiders - BostonHerald.com

Can't believe they traded Seymour, can't believe they got a top 10 pick for a guy in the final year of his contract.

That was exactly my first two thoughts.

Seymour is and has been one of the top NFL defensive lineman the last eight years, but I can't imagine the Raiders dealing a first round pick while they are in rebuilding mode.

Great trade for the Pats for three reasons:

1. They get a first round pick from a team that's rebuilding (granted it's a 2011 pick)
2. The Pats have outstanding depth on the DL alongside Ty Warren and Vince Wilfork (Jarvis Green, Mike Wright and impressive looking rookie, Ron Brace). Granted, none of them are Richard Seymour.
3. Trading Seymour frees up much needed cap room with Brady, Wilfork and Logan Mankins contracts coming up.

The Pats defense has gotten MUCH younger with Vrabel, Harrison, Bruschi, Seau and now Seymour gone. The question is, has it gotten better?

Thanks for all the GREAT memories the last 8 years Big Sey!!!!

Only thing I can think of is the Kraft family has some old school blackmail material on Al Davis, first they get bent over on the Moss trade, then again with this one.

Reports are saying that Merriman's defense is going to be that he was trying to prevent her from drunk driving.

The situation raises an interesting point regarding the lengths to which someone can or should go to stop someone else from driving drunk. In this case, Merriman will claim that he did not cross the line, and the other persons who were at his home are expected to testify to that end.
