Should resort to a slotting system for the top x picks, a certain contract length (2-3 years) and then open season on big deals once ability is proven. One analysis i read about slotting in general is it really only works for the top 10 or 20 picks, after that they do start to normalize a little bit, and in the 2nd round you can already start seeing league minimum salaries or something. I might not be saying it quite right, but I think you get my point.

When someone who has never played a game makes more than a superstar that is in his fifth season it is very screwed up. They need to stop paying rookies as much money as they do.

In one of their games, I think it was the third game, they just gave up a TD and were down their usual 21 points, and then came the commercial break, with an ad for Lion's season ticket packages. Spit my beer all over the living room. What timing!
