NFL 2009-10 Season

This post is for Sandra:

I don't want to be accused of being a fair-weather critic.....I've just been occupied with life.

The Jets are winning games with Braylon Edwards and the Browns are not (except for that awesome win against pittsburgh). Braylon certainly isn't lighting it up, though.....

I'll be sure to post records later.

Are you mad?!

Look, Charlie Fry is a nice kid. He's from Akron and grew up down the street from LeBron. I want him to succeed, but I've seen both these QB's you speak of. They spent some time on my Browns and I got a good look at them, especially Charlie.

He has a lot of, oh what do you call it?........ "Moxy". But that's it. Dude is just not good. I do agree with you that both are better than J-Marc though. ;)

Well....I saw ALL of them during pre-season and CLEARLY Charlie Frye, out played EVERYONE. BUT, I knew Ja-Dumbass was going to start because he is the guy they payed a ton for. Gradkowski might not have been good in YOUR team, but he has shown leadership qualities on a team the offensively had much less than the Browns. He was able to produce 2 wins against qualities teams AND almost went pull one out against KC.

The argument was Fry shouldn't be an NFL starter. Backup, fine. Starter, no way. Don't turn this into an argument about conferences.

That he should not be a starter is a BS argument. MAYBE he fits well in the scheme that the Raiders use. Gradkowski was perfect for us. A guy that does not make too many mistakes and ball control. Which makes his accomplishments even MORE amazing because here is a guy that litterally had the entire offensive hurt for all but 1 game(the OPENING Day starting line has only played together once and at least 3 starters have been out at EVERY GAME but 1) AND 2 rookies and a 2nd year player starting at WR.

I mean I guess maybe my argument holds for JaMarcus. Maybe a change of venue will help him....a place where is does not have to be the "savior".

...nnnnaaaahhhhhh.....LOL!

Never said that. I acknowledge the MAC's ability to put collegiate players into the NFL. However, we must also acknowledge as sane individuals that there is a much different skill level between the MAC and the NFL. Charlie Fry and Gradkowski were phenomenal QB's in college, but from what I have seen when following both of these QB's throughout their professional career, they should NOT be starting in this league.

I still disagree, both of them also went to lousy teams.
But them in a decent offense and see what they do.

Fwiw, another MAC QB will be in the NFL next year.
Pretty damn good one too, the kid from Central Michigan.
Dan LeFevour, catch him in thier bowl game if you can.

Mike Holmgren Reportedly Meets With Randy Lerner | WaitingForNextYear

Holmgren AND his agent were in Cleveland for the 2nd consecutive day talking of the possibility to become the next football Czar of the Cleveland Browns. By the sounds of it, it's Holmgren's job if he want's it....

Sources tell ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Holmgren is hoping to have his future clarified and secured by Christmas.

Dear Santa, all HD wants for Christmas is a competent football leader for my Browns. Mike Holmgren fits that bill. Please make it work!

That was the biggest flaw in your boasting, remove Edwards from both teams and the result would be the same.

Actually for me the hyprocisy is amazing. The records were not the only thing. People post videos of dropped passes, when they don't post a video (or even mention) the TD pass Edwards caught IN THE SAME GAME.

I don't even know if I like Edwards or not. I'm not normally partial to Michigan guys anyway. ;)

But I do like fair reporting, and people should just let go already...

Wait a second...what happened to "We have to give Mangini five years"??? And that was BEFORE his team beat Pittsburgh!

Mike Holmgren would be the Head of Football Operations, not a head coach. It will be up to him whether or not to keep Mangini.

Personally, I want to see consistency at the coaching position. Every time we change coaches, it sets the team back further. With that said, the decision on who to hire as GM & Coach should be the responsibility of a competent football leader such as Holmgren. If hired, I trust his decision over a detached owner and/or a fan posting on an internet forum such as myself.
