NFL 2009-10 Season

I actually liked Frye MORE than Gradkowski! Gradkowski has this fire and presense....Frye is more gifted physically than Gradkowski. Either one would be better than the Pillsbery Dough Boy....

...Hell, I would take my chances with Kenny Stabler......

Are you mad?!

Look, Charlie Fry is a nice kid. He's from Akron and grew up down the street from LeBron. I want him to succeed, but I've seen both these QB's you speak of. They spent some time on my Browns and I got a good look at them, especially Charlie.

He has a lot of, oh what do you call it?........ "Moxy". But that's it. Dude is just not good. I do agree with you that both are better than J-Marc though. ;)

I like both Gradkowski and Frye ......
I prefer Gradkowski, didn't hear he tore him MCL's till now.

I watched Gradkowski play in college, Frey as well, but Grad was on my home town team.

Both guys played very well in the MAC.

This is the NFL not the MAC. Look, I want both these guys to succeed too. Fry went to Akron and Gradkowski Toledo. You know I, more than anyone roots like hell for the locals, but neither one of these QB's is a starter in this league. Trust me.

1 play and you lose your opinion of a guy ?

I didn't even know he played and was wondering why, obviously it 's because of the big lead they had.

Seeing he doesn't get on the field or a chance to play, I'll excuse him for this strange dance.

My opinion was the Troy Smith had way too much class to do something like that when his team is up 48-3 at the end of a game. He did not do that when he was a Buckeye. So yes, that particular opinion has now changed, since he did it.

Hey Troy, score a fourth quarter TD to take the lead against the Colts, and you can dance your little head off.

Yeah, how many MAC QB's are there in the NFL right now? 5? Pennington, Rothlesburger, and Byron Leftwich?

Hmmm. Big Ben played in the MAC and he's doing pretty damn good with his NFL career.

Chad Pennington's had a decent career, also from the MAC.

You cannot say, because they played in the MAC that they can't play in the NFL.

Look at all the STUD Florida QB's that never amounted to much, a few have , but most not.

(btw, this is NOT a slam on Florida QB's, but pointing out that just because your a big named QB doesn't mean you'll be successful in the NFL.)

Take a look at the starters in the NFL and see how many are from large conference schools ...

They have to give him the chance to be playing when the game is on the line.... he won several games (last year ?) when the other guy was injured, played well, then Flacco took over when Troy was sick and has never had a chance to play since.

Look at who his leaders are in both instances.

In College, he had the extremely classy Jim Tressel to follow as lead.

In Baltimore, he has Ray Lewis.

And btw, what I think Troy did was not right.

And how many should be starting? One.

Like I said, I wish all MAC QB's well. I went to a MAC school and have close ties to this division. I just don't think they should be starting.

Never said that. I acknowledge the MAC's ability to put collegiate players into the NFL. However, we must also acknowledge as sane individuals that there is a much different skill level between the MAC and the NFL. Charlie Fry and Gradkowski were phenomenal QB's in college, but from what I have seen when following both of these QB's throughout their professional career, they should NOT be starting in this league.

The argument was Fry shouldn't be an NFL starter. Backup, fine. Starter, no way. Don't turn this into an argument about conferences.

Ouch, I thought we were debating Grad and Frey being Starters in the NFL ....

You made it sound like a MAC QB couldn't succeed in the NFL.

Any other conference have 5 QB's ?
Let's see, Pac-10 has:

Cal - Aaron Rogers, GB
USC- Mark Sanchez - NYJ
USC - Carson Palmer - Bengals
Oregon - Dennis Dixon - Steelers (ok, that's a stretch calling him a starter)
USC - Matt Leinart - Arizona (well, he was a starter for a while)

Am I missing anybody?

Add Jake Locker to the list if he declares for the draft. :)

Breaking News: Mike Holmgren Reportedly Meets with Lerner & Browns!

As the quest for a Football Czar continues for the Cleveland Browns, we have confirmation early this morning that potential President/GM Mike Holmgren was in Cleveland last night to meet with owner Randy Lerner. I say “confirmation” as we were sent an email stating just that as the two individuals were spotted at Fahrenheit restaurant in the Tremont area of Cleveland.

The Buccaneers were so bad against the Jets on Sunday- 6 first downs and 133 total yards.

It didn't matter if Sanchez or Clemens started against them. Hell, Sandra could have been the QB and they still were going to win.
