NFL 2008-09 Season

Don't hurt yourself. Not that it means anything, but we did go undefeated, and plastered your Clowns.:D The Lions did add some depth this season. Now if we could just find some quality starters....

:)

Now that they have decent backups, your right, maybe they can get some quality starters !!!

That was good Paul :D

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The NFL suspended New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk for the team's opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Faulk was also fined two game checks.
Faulk's suspension began Saturday. He will be eligible to return to the team Sept. 8, the day after New England's opener against Kansas City.
In July, a judge in Lafayette, La., sentenced the 32-year-old Faulk to a year of probation after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor marijuana charges. Faulk had been issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of marijuana at a Li'l Wayne concert at the Cajundome in February.
Last season, Faulk had 47 catches for 383 yards and one touchdown. He also had 62 rushes for 265 yards.

They're playing the Chiefs. The Pats will be O.K. without him.

The Pats are loaded at RB anyway (Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris, and Lamont Jordan). Where they will miss Faulk is on third down. IMO, he's been one of the best third down backs this decade.

The Bengals have cut Rudi Johnson. A bit of a shocker!

I thought so too, but he has had injury issue, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
Who will pick him up ?
That means that Chris Perry (Michigan) should become the starter, it will be good to see him get his chance to see what he can do.

Jimbo- maybe your Lions should go after him?

They have what could be the rookie of the year (IF they had an O Line) Kevin Smith :D

And MY team has another rookie I expect big things from, Rashard Mendenhall :D

I expect Smith to get more playing time as Mendenhall will play behind Willie Parker.

Let me echo Jimbo here; Kevin Smith will surprise a lot of people in the NFL. If the O-Line ever learns to block somebody (correction- knock somebody on their ass), this kid will rack up some yardage. As for Rudi, well if he had anything left in the tank, I don't think he would be looking for a job today.

The Patriots cut safety John Lynch. The Pats signed Lynch a few weeks ago, so this comes as a surprise.

Also, the Pats cut disappointing WR Chad Jackson. Jackson is the latest high draft pick WR that has failed for the Patriots (Hart Lee Dykes, Tony Simmons, and Bethel Johnson).

Doesn't this count as a Substance abuse issue with the league, shouldn't he be out for 4 games, or is that ONLY if the NFL catches you ?

Jimbo

Only if you test positive in a drug test. Possesion is different.

Flacco Named Starter for Rats by default.

While Kyle Boller and Troy Smith are battling to stay healthy, the Ravens named rookie, Joe Flacco the starter for week 1. In more news of desperation, the Ravens also called in Chris Simms, Joey Harrington and Todd Bouman in efforts to add depth to the much needed QB spot.

Lions pick up Rudi Johnson in a bit of a shocker. Lions now have Tatum Bell, rookie Kevin Smith and now Johnson to split carries in Detroit.
ESPN - Johnson expected to compete for starting RB job eventually - NFL

It just goes to show that the Lions will make me look like an idiot anytime they can. Didn't think about Tatum Bell being the odd man out - he sucks anyhow. At any rate, he can't hurt, plus the Lions only have three RB's on the roster right now, so they will probably add another one before Sunday.
