Newbie Question--Satellite Setup (HELP!)

that manual has errors. dish needs to correct that and their new prints. u aim and lock your signal before you can do check switch. don't try to install it yourself when you can have it done for you for free. but if you really wanna do it yourself, get satellite signal meter from ebay and start playing. ( be sure to move it slowly) if you are using tv as satellite meter, it is not that sensitive.

Well, one situation I can think of that would require a Check Switch is when installing a typical refurb unit. I can see E* screwing up when they pack them and it might be configured for sommething that won't allow the box to see things correctly. After all, we've seen refurb DVRs that still had timer and content on them from the previous user - any bets those same boxes still have the old matrix set?

I'm picking up both satellites! Yippee!
