I just purchased a Hot Shot Model HSSLNGRFKIT 28" x 20" satellite heater from Solid Signal. I told the sales guy I was using the small Dish Satellite dish, and he sent me this model. When I spread it out over the dish, it is much bigger than the dish. I have searched online all over the place and there is no mention of what to do with the excess portion of the heater that extends past the metal part of the dish. Can someone clue me in? When I talked with the sales guy I emphasized that it was for the small DISH satellite dish and not for a direct tv dish. Do I cut off the extra? Fold it over onto the back of the dish? I would think, leaving to flap in the wind (I get 100mph gusts at my home) would quickly tear off the adhesive from the metallic liner. Appreciate any feedback.

Sounds to me that they sent you the wrong one, I'd call them back and have them send you the correct one.
Did you give them the Dish Model number ?

As far as I know, these heaters attach to the Back of the dish, not the front.
(edit: I guess some say they work on the front as well)

There really shouldn't be Excess ...

Which Small Sat Reflector is it ?

That's what I am thinking....but when I was talking to the guy I mentioned that the ad was talking about the Direct TV Dish and didn't mention the Dish TV dish ( and having a company name of DISH doesn't make it any easier to search for sizing comparisons). He assured me that this covering would work on my DISH dish. I hoped to get an answer today because I ordered it from them last month. The delivery did not include the dish cover, so they had to send it AGAIN, I just got it on Saturday, and tomorrow it is going to get colder and snow, so I don't know if I will see 50F again this winter. So If I could make it work and put it on today I'd do it, but if there is some concern, I'll hold off.

We'll see what happens. The last day the temps will be over 50F for the next couple of months is today, so I went out and put it on the dish, and the parts that hung over, I just folded around the backside of the dish. I guess I will see what happens.
