I see my Quad Cities to be uplinked (Davenport, IA-Moline, IL) but nothing has happened yet. Direct brought locals in HD to the area 3 months ago so I am anxious to get mine from Dish.

It's so frustrating....when I call and ask Dish for a general time frame on what "coming soon" means for Indianapolis (2009? 2010?), I am consistently told that there is no timetable. I am running out of patience (not that I had much to begin with!).

I'd really like to see the Indianapolis locals in HD, and we live too far out to pick them up with an antenna. :-(

Near Future = Near Impossible?
Coming Soon = When Competition Gets It?
Maybe = Maybe Not?

Believe it when you see it or if they have a date that is within a month or two of the current date. I have seen many other things by Dish that they announced a future time planned for release and it never materialized.

Hmmm, seems like they're hitting all the DMAs that are close to me (Madison WI, Des Moines IA, Davenport IA).
Let's hope that means the one I'm in (DMA #88: Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City, IA) will get done "SOON".
DirecTV has had the one I'm in for about a year now.

Springfield MO and Joplin MO were added last week. Some of, if not all, the others were tabled into the new Ciel 2 satellite that is to take the old 129 satellites place sometime in the near future.

Do I need Dish to come and add something to my dish? I live in Joplin, MO and subscribe to the locals, Top 250 and HDTV yet I don't see my locals on my rundown. Am I missing something?

Curious how far from Indy you are, I am 64 miles north and am picking up most of the channels with a channel master Antenna 4228, only ones im not getting is 13 wthr and 4 WB, and I believe it has something to do with there power output at the moment (at least im hoping anyway)

Taking it with a grain of salt, I was told we'd have the Indy HD locals by the end of the 1st quarter of '09 .... I'm hoping that's true. Of course, they've been uplinked before and here we are still without them, so who knows.

The funny thing is. is that i contacted a Paducah, KY CBS and they knew nothing about it. They would be the last one to now about dish wanting to go HD with there station.

What satellite antenna do you currently have. I think they were added to 61.5W on the eastern arc. If you have a Dish 1000.2, you will have to contact E* and have a 61.5 wing dish installed. There have been some in other eastern arc markets that have had their 1000.2 dishes replaced with a 1000.4 eastern arc dish. E* usually charges $59 without an additional commitment or installs free with an extended commitment.

Any word on Indianapolis locals?

Hey--anyone have a more firm date (than "first quarter, 2009") for the Indy locals to appear on Dish Network? Living about fifty miles south in Bloomington, I am not able to pull in any OTA signals without going full-blown rooftop-mount.

Also, any idea when SpeedTV will appear in HD? I hope so before the start of F1 season! --mike r.

I'm about 35 miles from Indy and use a Wineguard 769 antenna. It solved all my OTA problems. The CM 4228 does not work in this area, but works great at the lakes, near Warsaw,IN.

I've been with Dish for at least 10 years now with the everything pkage plus the Gold for HD.
I'm sorry but Dishnetwork has the stupidest most ignorant people working there! All a bunch of camel jockeys that can't understand anything. I called tonight 3 times to have my Satellite upgraded to the new 1000.4 so I could get HD on my locals in Joplin, MO. Well these stupid asses Turned off my locals that I get now and said I'd have to wait till they come out on the 16th to install the new dish. Why in the world would I have to loose something just to get something 1n 10 days??? When all they have to do is flip a switch at the time when the installer comes out. I've called now 3 times since then and still o locals back. Makes no sense to me. Where in the hell do they get off thinking they have Superior Service. Does anyone know a phone number that will get someone that understands english???
Superior Service........................
A BIG NOT!!!!!

Dish about to lose even MORE local channels

Satellite question going from SD to HD
