NCAA Football 2014 season

Being as we dont know how unpredictable the committee will be, it is very possible that a previously unbeaten Miss state could lose the SEC champ to a one loss Georgia and still both make it to the playoffs. Under the old system it would be unlikely to continue to the champ game, but with top four, with a different (supposedly) selection criteria, who knows.

And another LSU hating Mississippi fan getting ready to jump back on the Bama bandwagon again. ;)
Yall had to replace the tires on the wagon Id imagine after this past weekend. No way they could hold up to the strain of all those fans jumping back on at one time. :D

LSU fans "fall" off the bandwagon, never jump. ;)

My Dad lives in Picayune, MS. These past few weeks his Rebel fan bowling buddies have been "Ole Miss will win it all," " LSU sure has gone downhill," etc. Yesterday all they said was "Bama's gonna tear yall's asses up. " :D

http://247sports.com/Bolt/Kirk-Herbstreit-Sounds-Off-on-SEC-Bias-Proponents-32422974

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit was on Colin Cowherd's radio show on Tuesday morning and the topic of ESPN's perceived SEC bias came up. College GameDay host Chris Fowler took issue with the subject last week on Twitter and again during GameDay on Saturday. Herbstreit doesn't feel much differently on the matter than Fowler does. He points out that the SEC isn't the only entity that ESPN does business with.

"I guess you and I have the same bias towards Texas then, right?" Herbstreit said to Cowherd. "Because aren't we involved with the Longhorn Network? Are you and I on here tooting the horn for Texas and how they deserve to be up there and what a great team Texas is this year? Have you been doing that weekly? Did you get that memo?"

"I think it's the most ridiculous thing, but it was very predictable. At our seminar in August, I even brought up (during a Q&A session) how people are gonna think that we are sitting here talking about the SEC because of the SEC Network. But we've been talking about the SEC for seven years, before the SEC Network. You know why? They win games. They go on the big stage and they win big games. What do you want us to do, ignore them?"

New poll out, nothing changes from week to week or year to year.
If yourba sec team and lose, you drop a few spots and work your way back.
BT conference lose a game and you drop out of sight, win your games move up a little, while still being no existant, you win a close game and still lose spots.

I think we spoke about winning and losing spots awhile back ....
Quite tired of this BS.

It seriously looks like thesec is the only conference that is involved in College Football and of course the Nations team, ND, after 20 years of owning NBC but playing division 2 football are suddenly relevent again ... hmmm. Imagine that.

Alot of that at the top will unshuffle starting even this weekend. For right now, the top teams in the polls and this newest one are, imo, pretty accurate. Although I would obviously prefer Bama being in the top four out of the gate, it really does not matter as two of those four play this weekend, and bama still has two of them plus LSU on the schedule left to play.

As to the BT, it has earned the perception that continues to hurt it in any form of ranking system honestly over the years. Those losses to teams like Va Tech only work to strengthen that perception.

As you can now see though, it isnt just ONE small group that thinks like this. It is every ranking body that is out there for the most part. Seems like there is probably something to it.

Michigan St. wins out they are in. Simple as that. Other teams ahead will feed on each other.
Where would you rank the SEC teams? Miss. St. Undefeated. Auburn lost to St. beat K. St. and LSU.
Ole Miss beat Bama play Auburn this weekend to eliminate one team. If Auburn wins play 3 more elimination games.
Same with the the other SEC schools. Stop whining and win. It's pretty simple.

I am curious about one of those questions as well. If you do not agree with these rankings, what would yours look like. If you do not think that the SEC teams should be there, where would you put them, who would you rank above them, and why?

I would like to know too. What is your top 4?

Big 10 has nothing to complain about. Their top three teams, Ohio State,Wisconsin and Michigan State have all lost their marquee non conference game. OSU lost to a very medicore Va Tech team. Wisconsin lost to LSU and Mich State lost to Oregon. Win those games and they all look a lot better.

My top four right NOW would be State, FSU, Auburn, and honestly (homer) Bama. Although I certainly understand why they put Ole Miss in based on them beating us. Oregon's loss to Zona hurts them IMO, and I would not have them ahead of Bama even if you leave the top four as is.

My "gut" tells me that we are the superior team, and many ole miss fans will even tell you that right now.

Do you Honestly think had Ohio State beat Va Tech they would be in the Top 10 ? I don't.
So the fa t that you lose your Starting Qb for the last 3 years 2 weeks before the season and have a O line that has played 1 game doesn't seem to make a difference to them.

Personally, I have been pleasantly surprised this year with how well they have played ... however ranked 16 is a slap in the face.

Quite honesty, beyond Miss St. & FSU, I'd say it's still way to early to seed 3 &4. Still plenty of the season left, so nothing of real value separates all the 1-loss teams out there.

I wouldn't have the rankings come out until right before the conf. championship games.

If Ohio St. was still undefeated, they would be ranked #3, possibly #2 over FSU.

As they have a single loss, they should be in the pack with the rest of the 1-loss teams.
Quite honesty, they and all the other 1-loss teams (Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, etc...) can moan all they want about their respective rankings, but the simple fact that none of them took care of business when they should have removes all justification from their complaining.

Ironically, beyond all the Pac14, Big12, and BigTen complaints about rankings and being left out of the BCS Game and now 4-team Playoffs, they were the conferences against an 8/16 team playoff, while the SEC & ACC have consistantly been the proponents of such a playoff.

Considering that they were ranked #8 in one and #7 in the other before they lost, yes, I think it is reasonable to assume that they would be likely top 2 or 3 had they won that game and not dropped any other.
