NCAA Football 2014 season

It's all part of the cycle. If ole miss drops off, and our schedule were as weak as y'all's, our poll position wouldn't be as good either.

Edit: Even if ole miss drops off. The strength of the sec west should keep us in contention if we win out.

Hey, I don't make the schedule.
Your schedule isn't all that either.
Out ooc schedule isn't, even though west Virginia is decent enough.

Our overall schedule however is vastly superior. just our division schedule alone.

Hell until this week all but one were top 15. That's five of our entire schedule. And the sixth division opponents only loss was to two of them.

Your kidding right ?

look at the teams the sec has other than the top 3 ...

Fixed that for ya, I know the loss is clouding your judgement ;):biggrin

Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, Tennessee, LSU (this year), Western Carolina, Arkansas can be added to that list.... yup thats a whole lot better than the schedule that my team plays.
Those guys are the teams you all fail to mention when touting how great your sec is.

Sure the Big Ten has poor teams, but as I've said before, your teams play a lot of those poor teams as well.

I would LOVE for the Buckeyes to play the sec teams on a regular basis.

Never know how good we could be if they are all afraid to play us.

I'm sick and tired of playing you guys in a bowl game in your own stadiums.

Haha, all that matters is final ratings admittedly, but often, especially in conference, those games shape that final rating.

Does anyone here really argue that there is a toughest division in college football not called the sec west?

I prefer to look at the rest of the teams in that godly conference and see where they stack up with the others.

Wait, because osu isn't scheduled to play sec teams its because the sec teams are afraid to schedule them?

If that's your stance, what is it based on? Certainly not any head to head results.

I could as easily say that osu is scared to schedule the sec on a regular basis, but we both know that is not true.

I'm sure we both would love to have those matchups, but they don't happen often enough for either of our liking, and it certainly doesn't have anything to do with fear on either side.

It's money.

That said, given your record against the sec you should count your blessings, as if they did play regular, going off past matchups, osu might not be as relevant as they are.

Look at the rest of them then. Compared to other conferences, they match up head to head on a general basis as better most years.

You guys like to yell bias, but that comes from some basis in fact.

Yeah I know, the weather is too good when they play head to head and northern teams only perform in the chilling cold that is Ohio from late August to late November.

I disagree, if OSU played them more often I think they would have much better outcomes.
As for your Money mention, I don't know where your going with that.
The fact that the sec never plays any games against the BT at the BT home is the real issue I have. Now we both know that neither of us make these schedules, but I would love to play the sec on a regular basis, I prefer to play important games after like game 3 of the year, this allows both teams to form an identity at that point.
Like someone said earlier, playing these kind of games in the 1st few weeks is a crapshoot as you never know what type of team you have at that point.

Like I said to DVR earlier, I would love to play that Va Tech game now, I think my team now has an identity and is playing the type of game they expect.

I'm only pointing out that your conference has thier poorer teams as well, they are not all #1 in the land.

The BT has a perception problem that wouldn't go away if they were all undefeated, they get looked down on continuously, regardless of how good that particular team is.

The sec on the other hand gets pumped up every year, they have a few great teams every year and the rest rides on its coattails.

I guess Bama didn't recently play a home and home against Penn state. Didn't have one scheduled against Michigan state either (although that one was cancelled)

Look, we can't help that the bowl games are generally scheduled where the weather is nice during th e time games are played.

But don't act like it is just the sec not scheduling to play at big 10 stadiums.
Besides the home and home with Penn state, I'm not sure of another big ten team taveling to a HOME game against an sec school in recent memory. Not saying it didn't happen, the general ooc schedule of the typical big 10 team normally doesn't interest me as much as the sec seems to interest fans from other conferences.

They big 10 has been in this position of power as well. They simply are not now, by a long shot.

Perception some times is based on reality.
