Its about having pride.. There is a reason why the SEC fills the ranks of the top 10 every year. Our reputation against OOC teams has been proven time and time again. So why wouldnt we support our fellow SEC teams against OOC teams? When Alabama beats the Irish and makes it 7 in a row for the SEC it makes it easier for all the teams in the SEC to get higher rankings. I wanted GA to win against Alabama (even though GA is a bigger rival to FLA) Because that would make FLAs only loss was to the SEC Champion. Helping our ranking. In the landscape that is college football and the ranking system, one has to have a strong conference to have a shot at the national title.

The reason a 1 loss team from the big12, pac12, big10 etc is not going to the National title game, but a 1 loss SEC team will be, is because of our overall ranking.

in other words it because the other conferences s@ck. I don't think the top teams in those conferences could finish above .500 in the SEC.

I look at it completely different. I look at it in terms of recruiting. Both the Gators and Bama can recruit Louisiana players very well, taking talent away from my team. The worse they are, the better the chances of LSU picking up top instate recruits. I also have a problem letting go of grudges, always have.

If your gripe is lsu performance within state recruiting do you actually have one? They have no in state competition Thy get most of the top recruits regardless.

Saban, Muschamp, and many other coaches that have coached and recruited for LSU that are now with other SEC teams, have Louisiana ties and convince top instate prospects to play for them. You know that. It only takes a few to build or weaken a teams chances at competing for a title. It also lessens LSUs chances of pulling in that top recruit from other SEC areas.

I all have to say is it's a good thing they play the games. I'd rather see an unbeaten Alabama team against the undefeated Notre Dame Irish so there would be no question in anyone's mind who is #1. Even an Irish loss would mean that the two undefeated teams in the country were Big Ten (not SEC) teams, Ohio State and Penn State. I'm sure that their fans will argue that they are the true#1 team, regardless of any NCAA sanctions.

It is going to be a long month between tonight's game and the BCS Championship game.

No doubt about it, same thing happening in the ACC tonight, except FLA st is killing GaTech.

Im not shocked about a 7-5 team being in the title game, It happens with probation's. I am shocked about that team not just beating Nebraska but KILLING them.
