I know this bit has been done, but I still get a kick out of it.
The NCAA finds out the SEC is back in the BCS hunt.

Can Jim Tressel be hired as a coach? or was that a 5 year ban for him?

Saw this the morning when rumors of Tressel to Tennessee came up.

Tressel was hit with a five-year show-cause penalty that would follow the coach, should he return to the sidelines before the 5yrs is up. If anyone, UT or otherwise, were to hire Tressel, the penalties levied on the coach would be enforced at the new school: a five-game suspension to start the tenure and a suspension for a bowl game that first season should the team qualify.

Well, those terms should work for Colorado, they aren't going to a bowl game any time soon. He's probably too rich for their blood unfortunately.

UPDATED: Tech denies Big Ten rumors

Amidst rumors and reports that Georgia Tech has applied and been approved for membership into the Big Ten, the school denied their veracity.
“There is no truth to the rumors,” Institute spokesman Matt Nagel said in an e-mail Friday afternoon.
Which tells me that they've applied, and informal vote took place and now they're waiting for the formal stuff (and the completion of the ACC championship game).

Now all that's left is for FSU & Clempson to go to the Big XII and the ACC is toast.

Rumor is GT will be making a BIG announcement within 7 days. I'm guessing if it happens, then probably after championship weekend. Big 12 is in no hurry, but FSU has had a standing offer for quite a while. :coffee

Wish they would just get it over with, so we can declare college football ruined and just make the FBS a professional minor league to the NFL.

This is OLD info from what I can tell .... he went to Indy last year and served a 5 game ban, now if he goes to College, he has to do it AGAIN ?

ive been asking for a lot all season. From Asking Auburn to beat GA, asking USC to beat Notre Dame... But for the love of god, KENT ST CAN NOT BE RANKED in the top 16! We do not want to play them in the Sugar bowl. Bring us Oregon or Oklahoma!!

Why? Am I scared? No. But Beating Kent St, means nothing.. But losing to them, well ya never live that down.

I am boldly predicting that GT will stay in the ACC.Furthermore if any conference pursues UNC or Duke you won't get one without the other.Same probably applies to VA and VT.

You won't get Kent St, the Sugar picks before the Orange, so you will get Louisville and the ACC will get the honor of playing Kent St, if this unfolds that direction.

The B1g Ten adding more (Ga Tech) ?

Say it isn't so ....

This is WAY too many teams in a conference to make sense ....
I can see the schedule now, you play each team once every 4 years ?

Ya thats great, who ever thought that adding to 14 then 16 teams was good idea should be shot.
