Wow... as much as I hate ND, hard not to root for them when they get little to no respect. A LOT of assumptions... and a lot of "shoulda, coulda, wouldas...."

As a huge ND fan I know we are big underdogs and I'm fine with that. I think ND has a shot while most around here think it will be a blowout. That's why they play the games.

And chizik is out at auburn. Win a National title, two years later you are canned. Such is life in the sec if you can not constantly win.

Probably ...
They won't get a chance to play the other Undefeated team in the Nation ...

Congrats on a great season.

I am curious that if they were eligible , if the other polls voters would give them more than the ap poll voters have.

Personally, I think the ap has them just about right.

Buckeyes were a HUGE underdog in '02 and won .... like you said, thats why they play the games.

Just looking at the NFL teams for a sec, who would have thought that the Browns would beat thew Steelers easily ?

I think it's about right, the Buckeyes are coming together at the end of the season, D is much better now than they were early in the year, unfortunately, a few moves they made to correct things, dealt with SR's being moved around, obviously they will be gone next year.
Offensively they didn't do as much as I thought they might against M and I thought that Urban would, have had some of those sec passing plays in place by now, ya know, they ones that you ALWAYS have someone open quickly ... Oregon is like that too if you watch thier O closely.

Next year will be much better for them with more recruits coming in and Urban's plays already in the minds, don't have to learn the whole offense.

First step for Bulldogs is beating Bama. Personally whoever wins the SEC will throttle ND. ND struggled to beat teams they were better then. Thanks to the Pitt kicker they remained undefeated. As for next season my Bulldogs get a Non Conference game at Clemson and pick up LSU. I am sure more will make comments about there weak schedule because of North Texas and Appalachian State games. Unlike many other schools teams like UGA, UF and So. Carolina play in state rivals for Non Conference regular season finales every year. Most PAC 12, Big Ten and Big 12 teams can not say that.

Well other than the wanna be crybabies from College Station most all the Big 12's instate rivals are in the Big 12. Iowa St does play Iowa just not as the last game. The same holds true for the PAC 12 and Big 10

I guess it's our fault the sec doesn't want two schools from the same state anymore. I suppose those rivalry games are supposed to make up for the 3rd and 4th FCS games the sec likes to play in week 12.

It's the sec's way of having another BYE week.
Thus giving them an easy game the week before the Rivalry game.

Still mad because we play the SAME team you play just at the end of the season instead... Maybe take that up with your schools scheduling department.

I'm not even sure what the gripe is this time. Rivals being In conference but out of state ? Rivals being in conference and in state ? Rivals being out of conference and in state ? When a perceived good ooc game is scheduled and when a cupcake is ?

Sounds like some need to get up with their schools and conference scheduling department. Change it up to be competitive , because what they are doing does not seem to be working.

Of course in the end, you have to beat the opponent in front of you.

Not mad about it at all. Don't like playing those teams at all, but as you know it affects the polls to play them that late.
The sec likes to talk about how tough their schedules are, when in actuality they play some of the weakest schedules around. Sure Florida this year and LSU last year played tough schedules, but the rest not so much.

But he is right, I mean we can go back through the thread and dam near every single game there are posts from the ACC guys about bad officials costing them games etc.
Unfortunately no amount of bad calls can be blamed for GT's pathetic defense this year. :(

I place blame where it's deserved.
