WAS good, never said awesome as I know you are talking about me. They were good first two weeks then fell completely part it seems. Give me a break would ya.

And quietly...The U is undefeated in conference play and 4-1 overall. A win next week by the "Baby Canes" and suddenly, the team can build on this momentum.

VT has to go to Miami this year so yeah I could see Miami winning this game - the way VT is playing now they could stand to lose another 3-4 games. They ruined Logan I think by sending him to some QB camp during the summer when he was awesome last year - this year its like he's damn near lost till 4th quarter.

As a Bama fan, not happy so far with the effort. Giving up too much for my tastes.

are you kidding me? I'm not bama fan but so far they have looked like #1 since the start, I wouldn't at all be cutting on them in a humble manner such as this. Talk em up - hell you do that anyway any waking moment or the SEC in general, don't stop now.

yeah, but that second week was against Presbyterian. Not exactly a real test of a defense. Week 3 was Virginia who just lost to La Tech. And we won't go into the first week.

I dont disagree that overall they have looked like the top team, and are deserving of the top slot. I simply was not all that happy with the performance in saturdays game. It was adequate, and got the job done, but it was not their best body of work by far.

You guys kill me...give the OTHER TEAM credit! I mean how many times has it been made clear how tough...and most cases tougher..are conference games...due to familiarity.

I'll happily give credit to Ole Miss. They played great, but anyone that watched and says Bama played their best is crazy.

Maybe Bama isn't as good as all the Saban worshipers think. Who have they played? Arkansas and Michigan aren't really proving to be much (especially Arkansas). Ole Miss may have been one of the best teams they've played so far.

You may some valid points. But it ALWAYS "we do our best" and NEVER "they played so good that they STOPPED US from playing well...'

IMO, Its not a question of "who have they played". Because even if those teams fail to live up to the hype, Bama did not just beat them, they flat out dominated in every phase of the game, and came within a play or two of having total shut outs three games in a row (and a big play or two against michigan). If there is a weakness, I have not seen it exposed yet.

If those games were close, yeah, maybe. They werent. This one was, and the main reason, IMO, based on past performances, is because Bama did not play up to their own standard.

Not trying to take anything away from Ole Miss, they did play well, and may very well be better than the past 3 teams, including Michigan.

The media plays a big role in this IMO, and the fans just follow along. They hype the hell out of their media favorite teams and coaches, practically calling the national championship just a few games into the season. When that team struggles with a gutsy opponent, they give very little credit to the opponent, their darlings just didn't play up to their standards.

Can't "like" this comment on my phone but I totally agree!

Maybe they played down to the competition, many teams do that whether they know it or not.
I agree, but the polls, particularly the media driven ones, don't always treat these games/teams the same. Teams they have already "professionally predicted" to win it all are given a pass as long as they win, while with others they see these games as an indication, or justification, of being overrated and push to drop their rankings.

It is what it is, but it's BS until there is a playoff that doesn't involve personal opinion/bias, which there will never be.

This game between Miami and ND is SO big down here. EVERYONE ever associated with The U will be watching. IF the "Baby Canes" can pull this off...this will be a good sign that Al Golden is slowly bringing this team back to the national spotlight. It will be tough, with 17 freshman starting or playing significant minutes on offense and defense. Like I said last week, they WILL make mistakes and for how many big plays they make, they wil give up big plays as well.

When Miami was at it's highest point...NOBODY out recruited them in the most fertile football state in the country. Alonzo Highsmith, former Cane and current exec with the Packers stated this morning that recruits and coaches are constantly asking him and others as to how is Miami doing and what's going on as far as the football program. Love them or hate them, things are alot more fun when they are relevent.

I am super excited about this game...WOW!
