Stanford up on the mighty USC 21-14 late in the 4th. Can ESPN's darling come back for the win? :)

Nope, USC is done. Stanford's 4th straight win over the Trojans. ESPN should've pumped up Stanford if they didn't want two SEC teams at the top. ;)

one last post for the night for me...so glad USC lost!!!! makes me day a little brighter although VT lost.

Mark my words there won't be a undefeated at end of season worthy of playing in big game.

The Smug Ego Conference is 1-2 again.

Wake me up when LSU or Bama lose. The college football season just got a lot less interesting.

I don't know. At the rate LSU is losing players, I don't see any teams left that can beat 'bama.

Alabama has brought a butt whopping to every team the play so far. Yes, Ark didn't have their starting QB, but as msmith said, he don't play defense. Just ask Demarkus.

I said this after our last bowl game when the team quit on him. Now, maybe UK will take that step. The sad thing is I see only one more win this season. What a shame.

Every year...there is always a team like this and seldom, they survive. By the time the 8th game rolls around and they are undefeated after beating up a weaker than usual SEC...they will be saying what every sports news/section say EVERY year...

".....the is the greatest team ever assembled...." LMAO!

On my way home from college park - great win for the huskies over our former coach, and the ^%#^*^^ing ACC

new polls are out...figured VT would drop out top 25 after that beat down and so they should. They will work their way back up like usual but its just stupid to have to get smacked once to do good things for the rest of the year...same song every year and its just getting old.

Cheer up, it wouldnt be college football if Va Tech and USC did not lay an egg or two during the regular season. Happens every year. ;)

Ohh you don't have to tell me.. never freaking fails but I didn't see them as National title contenders either - they still have a ACC Title to win but that involves beating Clemson and FSU which looks harder to do now.

little off topic but man did yall see Pitt's Video screen at the field??? I'm stick of seeing these larger video screens on scoreboards at other stadiums that make VT's look like a damn 19" monitor!!! VT really needs to spend some of that damn money they get and I know they get a bunch to upgrade score boards!!

never cared one way or the other about video screens at the stadiums. The reason I'm at the game is to watch the action on the field. If I wanted to watch it on a tv, I'd stay home.

Ok now fact check here - if you are on the other end of the damn field you can't see sh*t from the other side!!! My seats got moved like everyone else's in that stadium and I'm on the other end and it would be damn nice to have a good looking video screen to help with the view. You don't seem to understand that but the point is and the point was that other smaller schools have much better video screens while a good team and I do mean good as they are every year regardless of egg dropping games has a old small screen with med level sound.

I've been to small (GT) and huge (UGA) stadiums many times, as well as triple-decked Byrd (UMD). Never found a use for the video screens at any of them.

Which is why I said I never cared one way or the other about them. Neither really needed it, nor hated it.
As long as the screen does not detract from me watching the action on the field, I could care less if it's there or not.

I understand your point, which is why I said I didn't care about the screens one way or another, and gave my personal view on the need for them.

And if you can't see well from where you're sitting, don't complain about it, just pay more. I learned quickly at Byrd, never buy tickets from the visitors allotment, getting them directly from UMD, might have to pay more, but the seat are a lot better.

I like them in the case of replays and such, and I will admit, they look "cool" (bama has four, one in each corner, and it is nice), but if I am at the game, my view is on the field.

Its a bragging point for the schools these days though.
