Good move IMO.

The hope is to lessen the blown. I think the NCAA has taken care of the players that were currently on the team and involved with Shapiro. Now, IMHO, the burden is NOW on the NCAA to prove what happen with class before the current one.

It was announced today that the U will forgo any bowls due to the scandal revolving Shapiro. So Friday's game against Boston College will be the last game of the season.

Oh ok so every game they won against teams that won't get a bowl game if they needed that win will suffer along with them...nice!

It's a shame this hurts other players, teams, fans and whatever in this way... its a shame you can't give back wins so those teams can be bowl bound.

What the hell are you talking about?! Everything, as far as punishment, that have anything with Shapiro and the current players have been doled out with suspensions and restitution of any financial advantage they got.

Except the NCAA hasn't had thier say yet, have they ?
Wern't the punishments self imposed ?

Theres WAY to many teams going to bowls anyways.

Bowls are not suppose to be a Participation award.

Id certainly have Stanford over VTech but other then that looks promising.

I dont like Boise being so high. Isnt there some clause that they will get a BCS bowl if they are in the top 8 or something? Or is that only for the anointed Notre Dame?

lol of course you jab at VT again.... I expect it now.

But let me add this... if you DO NOT WIN YOU'RE CONFERENCE YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Plain and simple...if you disagree then you need to stop watching CFB cause that is just stupid to lose you're Conference and play for the national title...I'm sorry but I will sit here and eat nails to argue that point!

So even if you are better than the teams below you, if you are in a stacked conference and happen not to win it, you shouldnt be considered? Teams ranked below you should jump you for that reason only?

Id much rather place the best teams in it than a team that happened to win a weaker conference (as I have stated before).
I guess we should put Boise in just because they win their conference over a Bama or Arkansas that doesnt?

interesting to note it is possible 2 SEC teams play for the title and an SEC Team still gets to play in the Sugar bowl.

"No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings."

Yes. This happens in the pros also. How many people might not make the playoffs because an AFC West team at 8-8 will get a spot?

Then why not Boise again?
Yeah they are not in a BCS conference, but not everyone can be, and not everyone has control over that. They are in a conference. They might win it, and arguably it is a better conference than the joke that is the Big East at this point.
.

Nice, they take 10 months with OSU and STILL hasn't gave a statement, but Miami is done in 3 weeks ?

Which were more damaging again ?

The NCAA handed down the penalties for the current players in the OSU case as well. I don't think they have handed down the school punishment in Miami's case either. This is the piece that OSU is still waiting on.

Big East Expansion?

When will Ohio State get the final resolution from the NCAA?
