Meanwhile, the hubbub around A&M's imminent entrance into the nation's top football league – the SEC has won the last five national titles - has, along with the Aggies' No. 8 preseason ranking, caused a boon in ticket sales. With Sunday's night's season opener against SMU at Kyle Field nearly at hand, A&M announced Tuesday that only scattered individual tickets remain for this season's home games.

Donor, public and student season tickets are sold out. A&M often has added temporary seating when necessary, and excess tickets are sometimes returned from visiting schools' allotments.

"Expect chairs on the track surrounding the field for most of our games this year," A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Tuesday in a statement.

This is the most pumped I have been about Aggie football in many, many years!
