NCAA Football 2011-2012

Aww a fresh thread for a fresh year!! Ain't it great!!

I have to say I'm impressed with how good FSU looks this year and pulling for them to go undefeated up to the ACC Champ game when they may even play a undefeated Virginia Tech team... would make for a great send off to the National Championship for either team!!

Pre-season rankings look somewhat solid but I see a few teams dropping out of the top 10 fast. Why in the world did ESPN spot the BoiseSt/Georgia game on the same time as the LSU game is beyond me..thats just stupid so I'll be flippin back and forth watching both.

Because in someone's infinate wisdom, they decided to put the "Cowboy's Classic" on at the same time as the "ChickfilA Kickoff Game".

So don't blame the network, blame Jerry Jones's wallet.

According to Staples on this article it was ESPN whom scheduled it which seems to be AFTER the LSU game was setup.

1. Oregon vs. LSU at Cowboys Stadium (Sept. 3, ABC, 8:00 p.m. ET): Because SEC people love to say the Pac-12 is soft, and everybody else loves to see an SEC team get challenged. Why ESPN scheduled this game against Georgia-Boise State -- another intriguing bragging rights game -- remains baffling.

Ok, we can now count those two teams out of it. :D

Then Staples need to open a history book then. The Chickfila kickoff classic has been on the first Saturday night at 8pm since it started in '08 (so in effect, the game was scheduled 5 years ago). The Cowboy Classic started only last year.

As it is, Staples quote "Why ESPN scheduled this game against Georgia-Boise State" sounds to me like the LSU game was schduled after the chicken game was scheduled.

My thinking still is that ESPN/ABC wouldn't have put the games on at the same time, but the organizers themselves did it. Chickfila people set their time years ago, and Jerry Jones probably picked primetime for his game (and ABC/ESPN wasn't going to say no to him).

Welcome back .....

Seems you left us after VaTech got beat last year .....
Actually you stuck around till Va Tech was no longer worth shouting about.

always been here...just mostly in the WWE thread ;)

But yeah I was pretty pissed about the loss to Stanford at the end of the year but it happens I guess... but I don't talk much football during off season..too much else going on.

Ok Ohio State fans, I have a question.
Duran Carter finally got cleared, and enrolled at Bama yesterday.
I like his size, and his pedigree obviously, but that does not a good player make.
The coaches think he has promise.
What say you? I know alot can change since he was at OSU, but your impressions with his on the field ability given your exposure?

Surprisingly, I didn't think he worked hard, back then and had no interest in going to classes.....
That said, a lot can change in a few years and having a SHOULD be HOF and we'll respected dad should improve things if he decides to follow in the correct path.

Report: A&M notifies Big 12 it will withdraw - College Football - Rivals.com

More A&M news.
Texas A&M has notified the Big 12 it will withdraw from the conference, according to a newspaper report.

The New York Times said in a story posted on its website Monday night that Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin sent a letter to Missouri Chancellor and Big 12 board chairman Brady Deaton to inform the league it was leaving. The report cited two unidentified college officials with direct knowledge of the decision.

University spokesman Jason Cook did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment late Monday night.

...and so it begins...

1) Does the Bevo9 retaliate? SMU (maybe)?

2) Does the SEC take #14? (all sorts in play, WVU, FSU, who knows).

You can chat about the possibilities ad nauseum.

WVU? :haha NO WAY!!

I think if they go to just 4 major conferences than most of the Big East and ACC joins together.

The Big East is primarily a basketball conference so a lot have to change because most of the Big East basketball teams don't have a football team in the conference.

ND will probably go to the big 10 or the Big East/ACC conference.

Miami and FSU will probably leave the ACC and go to the SEC.

Then the big 12 will filter into the other three.

Once again this is just my opinion and not fact and usually my opinion is wrong. :D
