NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

UConn survives against a gutty Baylor team.

Justice prevailed, because Baylor, had they won, would have had a tainted win, IMO, because of that safety that was never called.

I'm going to watch the game this AM for a second look at those 2 calls (the roughing the passer call on the INT was nearly a game-changer)

Bama 28 - Arkansas 7, early 2nd quarter. Looks like Petrino might have to learn the hard way that the SEC isn't like the Big Least. You actually need a defense to survive. :)

I was wrong about Saban.

We had to give him a bit of time to make Bama a better team.

He DID make the right decision, IMO.

Yeah, the college game is more his forte. His style of coaching works well with college kids and just pissed off the pro player with the bloated ego. He'll do well at Bama, as much as I hate to say it.

Petrino on the other hand, looks to have a long row to hoe if he wants to make the Hogs a winner. They're a terrible football team right now. :(

mccoy,

do you think Auburn is a Top-10 fraud?

They had a weak offense and are somehoe ranked ahead of BYU and Texas Tech.

I don't know about a Top-10 fraud, but they definitely don't belong there over some others with their poor showing on offense so far. I've got a feeling that a number of the SEC teams in the top 10 right now won't be there for very long (LSU included).

Iowa's uniforms are almost identical to the Steelers.

That being said, it's weird seeing the Hawkeyes as a visitor at Heinz Field.

BC is going to have a longgggg year without Matt Ryan. The Eagles are losing to Central Florida, 7-3 at the half (on ESPNU).

Georgia Tech has looked dominant against Mississippi St., up 31-0 late in the third.

That score only adds to the arguement that Auburn is overrated!

Great goal line stand by NC State against East Carolina. The Pirates (my adopted team) are up , 21-17 with about 9 minutes left.

Surprised that NC State is playing so tough. This is a program that has been AWFUL since Philip Rivers, Jerricho Cotchery, and Mario Williams went pro.

Back on DBSForums, I once said that Wendy Nix seemed to be only covering Patriots stories.

Now, I stand corrected. She's doing a good job covering the college game- she hosts 'College Football Live,' gives live updates during games, and anchors the halftime show.

I admit, I was wrong. I once called her 'The female Pedro Gomez,' if you know what I mean.

Wendy Nix was a sports reporter at WHDH-TV Boston for years. Also, she is married to Red Sox executive Ben Charrington.
