NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

For anyone who says that kicking extra points are the easiest thing in the world, just check out the Cal-Poly/Wisconsin game.

Cal Poly has missed THREE of them!

Penn State KILLED an above-average Spartans team 49-18.

Oregon State, USC- WATCH OUT!!

I don't care if everyone is in love with the Trojans' defense or Oregon State's Rogers brothers- they can't match Penn State score-for-score.

As much as I don't like USC, I will root for them to beat the Irish next week.

(That game will have zero bearing on the Rose Bowl race- it's USC's game with UCLA that'll decide that, not the Notre Dame game)

I have said I'm not a Sooners fan, but it's more with the way the media hypes them up.

I love offense as much as the next guy, and I'd like to talk to a QB like Bradford or coach Stoops on the philosophies of offensive football.

I don't like the way the media builds OU to be unstoppable and unbeatable.

Don't forget where Bob Stoops got his offense in the first place Sabres. Remember, in 1999 in Stoops' first year as OU Head Coach, Mike Leach was his offensive coordinator.

IMO, letting Leach get away to Tech was a mistake for OU.

Remember, in 2001 and 2002, the Sooners had awesome defense but shaky offense.. I think a guy like Leach could have improved on that.

HD,

this is off-topic from the Tech game, but with Penn State locking up a Rose Bowl bid, which bowl game do you think the Buckeyes go to?

(And no, don't say BCS title game.)

IMO, Oklahoma has replaced USC as "Most impossible team to beat at home."

(The Trojans lost that title when they were beaten a year ago by Stanford)

To me, it is as if the Sooners are radioactive at home- nobody can touch them.

I'm thinking the Orange Bowl is still a very good possibility. The Sugar Bowl feature the SEC champion and the Fiesta Bowl feature the Big 12 Champion. The Orange Bowl on the other hand will most likely feature the ACC Champion vs. an at-large bid. I'm thinking a very popular OSU team could help make up for the small crowd an ACC team would likely bring.

I think OU has a VERY good chance of approaching Miami's 58-home game win streak.

(Hell, if not for those two losses, they would have easily broken that record)

BTW, while I root for Tech, I have said repreatedly that I don't see them winning in Norman.

Before the season, I said they'd beat everybody except for the Sooners.
