NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Looks like some of my predictions have really sucked.

I had BYU and Utah both undefeated for their November 22nd, I had the Chicago Bears going 1-15, and I had Missouri in the national title game.

Classy move by Pete Carroll!!! :up

He let the clock run out with the Trojans down at the Cougars 9 yard line.

41-0 at the half.

Classy ???
Is the first string still in ?
41 - 0

I didn't see the game , but I'd say it was a classic case of "Running the Score Up".

Lot of teams will do it.
If you don't you won't move up in the polls appearantly.

Am I the only one annoyed at how ESPN is hyping up Colt McCoy like he's the second coming?

Sabres, you just don't like Texas. Don't take that hatred out on Colt. He's a tremendous talent and deserves the recognition he's receiving. And prior to this week, I actually thought Texas' other native QB (Chase Daniel's) was the one who the media was slobbering over instead. After this week though, I think Texas and Colt McCoy put that little love fest to rest!

Did Tressel finally figure that out yesterday? 35 points is usually running it up for him. :)

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm already looking forward to next week's Saturday Night Game on ABC: Penn St. @ Ohio St.! And btw Sabres, winning at Camp Randall isn't the same as winning at one of the most hallowed grounds in all of sports that is "The Horseshoe" in C-Bus! (No offense Wisconsin, but come on!)

Hopefully this game lives up to the hype, since this week's Mizzou/Texas game was a bit of a letdown...

"Running The score up"?

Let's review: Washington St.'s last 5 Pac-10 games.

Cal/ Wash St. 66-3
Oregon/Wash St. 63-14
UCLA/Wash St. 28-3
Oregon St./Wash St. 66-13
USC/Wash St. 69-0

Still think they "ran the score up"?
Maybe this team just plain sucks?

Jimbo,

At the risk of sounding like a pr#*k, did you watch the game???

I did (at least 75% of it), and it could have been 100-0 if USC and Carroll wanted it to be.

Even the announcers were saying how vanilla the USC offense was, WSU just couldn't stop it, that's how bad they were. What is USC supposed to do, take a knee on EVERY snap???

If letting the clock run out, when you have first and goal at the 9 yard line with :50 seconds left isn't classy, then I'm sorry, I don't know what is!!!

BTW, third and fourth stringers were in the game for the entire second half.

The BCS rankings makes their appearance today, and I for one will be interested how they come out. We're half way or so through the season and here are my impressions:

- The ACC is definitely NOT ready for primetime. Neither are Missouri, MSU, BYU, Kansas, and Vanderbilt.

- Penn St./ "that evil school from the South" will be one of the great games of this season.

- Texas can score on the Detroit Lions, hell, they might even be able to beat them.

- Texas, Alabama, Penn.St, Oklahoma, Florida,USC, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, Georgia, "That evil school from the South", Utah, and Boise St., and now throw in 4 at large bids, and we would have one helluva tournament, wouldn't we?

Bill,
If you re read my post, you'll see I did NOT see the game.
I have no idea what channel it was available on, but I didn't have much time yesterday for football, only saw 3/4 of my game as well.
Wedding / rec. type of thing.

69 points though come on.
Did they score every time they had the ball and the other team go 3 and out ?
Do you even have the ball long enough to score that much ?

Texas is looking good tonight, but they will NOT make it through their murderers row schedule.

I don't care how good Colt McCoy is- they're not national title good, IMO.

Let's see what happens when they have to leave Austin and go to Lubbock!

They're NOT getting out of Tech unscathed!

Your saying Tech will beat Texas, I don't see that happening ....
Has Tech found the word Defense in the dictionary yet ?

It will be high scoring because or the amount of times the teams will have the ball.

Ok, I'll give you that :)

What happens when a team only scores , say 35 against them, that says WHAT about the other team ?

As God as my judge USC didn't intentionally run up the score yesterday.

Washington St. just plain sucks, and couldn't stop even the most vanilla offense.

BTW, I can't stand USC (never could), but i'm calling a spade a spade, they DID NOT run up the score intentionally.

I agree. I saw one highlight where USC ran a simple play where the receiver caught the ball around the 10 yard line and broke at least 5 tackles on his way to the endzone. That's not running up the score. Running flea flickers and half back passes is.
