We'll see. The first LSU-Alabama game was boring.

mdonnelly said:Meaningless? Maybe I'm crazy, but weren't those bowl games played before there was a BCS? Wasn't the purpose of the BCS to put the best two college teams in the country into a game to decide who's best? Arguably, aren't LSU and Alabama the two best teams? I'm getting older, maybe I'm imagining things.
Or is it LSU and Oklahoma State ?
That's where the issue comes in, there no way for the 3 to play against one another for the championship.
Teams are quite different now than they were during the season.
Yes, in the grand scheme of things the rest of the bowls are meaningless as the fill roles for teams that cannot play for the championship.
However, who's to sa that in a playoff game scenario, an 8 seed can't kn.ock off a 3 and advance, it happens in basketball all the time.

If its ANYTHING like the other game...yeah it will be but for the sake of the NC game I sure not.
FIFYSpot On.
The BCS has a sole objective, to funnel tens of millions of $$$ to the super conferences

But I agree with your point.

Just because the first game was low scoring doesn't mea the next one wil be, if that was the case, why bother playing a second game for anyone.
What I was trying to say was that why do you need a BCS Title Game when you have the Sugar, Rose, Fiesta and Orange Bowl? Like it was mentioned above, they played those games way before a BCS Title Game was even invented so why did they change it?
As I said - lets hope it has a little more action involved than the last game cause it was flat out boring no getting around that.
Sure there is.
All a matter of perspective.
Personally, I was on the edge of my seat each play. I would imagine most Bama and LSU fans will tell you the same.
There was a lot of action, defensive action. Why do people think a defensive game is boring? Probably those who's teams don't have any, or those who are jealous their teams didn't make the big game. As it is, I think defensive games are more exciting, as any play could be the one to decide the game.As I said - lets hope it has a little more action involved than the last game cause it was flat out boring no getting around that.

The more I think about this, if the #2 and #3 teams were so close together, there should have been a play-off game between them, and then the winner plays LSU for the title. That would have made a lot of sense; would have been easy enough to schedule, and there would be plenty of opportunity to make a LOT of money (since that's what its all about).
