If Va is a very good team by ACC standards, then I dont know what to tell you.
Auburn is a middle of the road SEC school, playing without their starting RB, and lost their starting QB in the game. Yet it is not close.
Really?? you want to play the "ohh they were without players game?" Ok
Virginia was missing two of its injured top defensive players in the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Auburn on Saturday night, and it showed.
But hey as I said they lost..ohh well don't like UVA anyway but figured it would have been a better game than it turned out - they were just still on their heals from that even worse spanking from VT a month ago. Did find a very honest posting and from what I gather looking at stats from the game last night looks dead on.
You clearly didn't watch the game. Neither offense could really be stopped, but Auburn had the ball more as a result of a blocked punt safety (UVa would have had better field position on that drive if their return man didn't lose the ball in the lights on the punt). Auburn recovered their own onside kick, giving them two consecutive possessions (they scored a TD on both). Neither defense showed up, but UVa's was on the field more because of special teams.
Did we get beat in special teams. Yes. Did we get beat in every othe phase of the game...not by much. Could have been a lot closer with the same level of play by each team .The score was not indicative of how good the teams looked. Auburn was better, UVa looked better than the 43-24 point score.
That came from another posting over on ESPN.. but the stats show this - seems special teams mistakes screwed UVA big time in that game.
