NBA 2008-09 Season

My God! I wake up from a late night, awesome buzzer beater of a game and I expect to log onto the NBA thread to talk about how great of a game we all witnessed last night and instead I awake to accusations of LeBron being on 'Roids and free agency rumors 2 years from now!!!

There's always people who will hate and are jealous of others successes. As for LeBron having a body similar to Karl Malone, first off LeBron is 24 years old, not 18. If AntAltMike followed the kid throughout his career, he would also know LeBron wasn't always as cut as he is now. He came into the league 6 years ago and was much leaner than he is now. Secondly, the NBA has anti-doping testing. If he was doing the unthinkable, he would've been exposed like all the baseball players by now. 3rdly, as Salsa said, LBJ is simply a freak of nature. We've never seen this type of athleticism in sports. The dude has been blessed. I've followed his career here in Ohio since his freshman year at St. Vincent St. Mary in Akron. In his Junior year at High School he was on the cover of SI along with the title: "The Chosen One". He's a blessed kid with God given abilities. Period. End of discussion. Show some respect, instead of spewing more hate next time you open your mouth Mike!

You are 1,000,000% correct!!! :up

LeBron was MUCH leaner when he came into the league six years ago.

I just wish I put that in MY response. My bad.

I was just so exasperated by the accusation, I wasn't thinking straight. :o

HD,

you're right about something else too.

SOME people are so jealous, they wouldn't know TRUE talent if it bit them in the arse!

The King does it again. This time on a back to back road victory against the Utah Jazz (102-97). Make that 3-1 on this challenging West Coast trip. The Chosen One was 1 assist shy of his 3rd triple double this month...

Points: 33
Rebounds: 14
Assists: 9
Steals: 1

D. Wade was not as good...but I will take his stats any night AND a win against Orlando.

Points: 27
Rebounds: 8
Assists: 8
Steals:1
Blocks:1

BUT, the emergence of Mario Chalmers is HUGE and is starting to get attention around the league for the rookie.

Points: 20
Rebounds: 2
Assists: 8
Steals: 3
Turnovers: 0

What's up with Beasley?

Just heard during the Celtics/Magic game that Memphis had fired head coach Marc Iavaroni.

IMO, the Grizzlies are one of the worst franchises in the NBA, if not all of sports.

For all I hear about the Lions and Islanders, the Griz are just as bad.

I'm going to make a bold prediction- within 3 years, O.J. Mayo will want out of there.

It looks likes SabresRule was on to something.

During today's Spurs-Lakers telecast, Jeff Van Gundy called the Memphis Grizzlies "the worst franchise in all of professional sports"!

I heard him say that too.

He is coming off the bench. He has not developed as fast as peopled wanted. He also has had this thing with wanting to shoot from 15 ft and beyond and that is NOT his game. He did have a good west coast swing where he averaged 19-9 per night....I would take that from a rookie PF that is ONLY 19 yrs old ANY DAY of the week.

The Clippers have to be the worst run NBA franchise. These guys draft in the lottery every year, and almost never reach the playoffs. They have probably drafted in the top ten more than any other franchise in the league, yet they are nowhere. Very Lion's like, indeed.

I agree. The Grizz haven't been around long enough to earn that title yet. The Clippers on the other hand have defied history and have made lousy move after lousy move every single year of their existence.

I would want somebody drafted that high, playing on a team as woeful as last season's Heat, to be starting. So let me refine the question. Why can't he break the starting lineup? I don't see the Heat play, so I don't know. You're my Heat expert, give me the inside dope.

His name is Shawn Marion and he makes 17 million dollars.....period.;)
