NASCAR 2010 Season

just the way the schedule is set up. Some dates on the schedule are the same weekend every year and the way the calender is set up that is how it is.

They have next week off then 2 weeks then a week off again (Easter).

just looking at previous years...last year ran the same way...break before Bristol.
08 was Bristol, break, Martinsville
07 was 2 then a break
06 was 2 then a break

so there really si no rhyme or reason

Just seems kinda dumb when your just getting the season starter, 3 weeks in and you take a break.....
The always stop for Easter and ways and Mother's day as well.

Didn't really expect more.

The come to Jesus meeting with NASCAR and each team will have more impact than any sanctions or fines would.

I would also imagine that Jack Rousch and Roger Penske would have a little more impact on their drivers too.

Not mention each of the sponsors.

I believe Tony Stewart can speak to that.

Cousin Carl gets probation for three races. Link.

Oh boy, probation.

IF, the Probation is all they are going to do, they should have docked him 100 points as well.

so lets see....

wreck a guy purposely
car ends up flipping
possibly sending debris into the stands
hurting someone

and he gets probation for 3 races?

guess you either gotta seriously injure a driver or fan to get docked points or fined

oh wait....that measurement on the car that is illegal and got you that 32nd place finish docks you 50 points for you, the owner and a fine

Hell, Jr. said Sh*t when talking about his Dad and got docked 100 points.

On top of the wreck, Carl went speeding down pit road the wrong way and was still racing when he made the turn into the garage.

Yeah I know it makes no sense at all.

Well , NASCAR has a problem now. At the start of the Daytona 500 they showed fights and wrecks from years past saying we're going back to the old school racing. Now Carl Edwards goes old school and NASCAR gives him an old school punishment. And some drivers and fans don't like it. Edwards didn't know the car would go airborne . How could he? But the wreck was the best part of the race.

I agree. Penalty does seem week. I know NASCAR said at the begining of the seasone they are "putting the driving back in the hands of the drivers." But to intentionally turn another driver at the fastest section of a high speed track, come on. They also should have hammered him for the pit road and speeding in the garage area. The parking of him with two laps seems kind of small right now, but we'll see come chase time. He could have made up three more spots form where he finished if he hadn't showed his ass. So he pissed away 9 points. Wasn't it less than 10 that Shrubby missed the chase by last year?

but it ended up being 8 laps because of the 2 GWC restarts

With 2 laps left in regulation, & 2 GWC, wouldn't it be 6 laps? Any way. I was just speculating if he hadn't caused the wreck and the race was finished in regulation he would have finished a few positions higher than what he did.

As I said before , they should have docked him a 100 points like they do everyone else.
At least he would have the rest of the year to make it up seeing it's not late yet.

Of course, NASCAR could have been looking at it as IF they had the Spoilers on (like they should have already) he probably would not have flipped and this would be a non issue, just a simple wreck.
